:guffaw:
Haha, excellent. That's my new Facebook profile pic

It also doesn't hurt to have both acetaminophen and ibuprofen in the house so you can use both to fight a high fever. If you have kids get the kid's versions to make it easier to dose them.

Both of which only fight symptoms and not the virus itself. And since a fever is one of the ways your body fights off illness...

Unfortunately flu tends to spike a high fever, and since high fevers can produce seizures, brain damage and death, it's best to have the means to control it.

And you might want to get it now before everyone needs it and demand exceeds supply.

Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen are also hard on the liver and can cause damage. Thera-Flu is the best followed by good old fashioned home made chicken soup loaded with garlic and clove as well as pushing clear liquids. Laugh all you like, but your so-called "modern science" has actually confirmed that chicken soup contains ingredients that help fight infection.

Thera-flu is loaded down with acetaminophen.

Yeah, I realized that after I posted. When I think of Thera-Flu I'm thinking two doses of that versus when people take two Tylenol every couple of hours for days on end. Anytime I've done Thera-Flu it was for only a day and no longer. I still avoid Ibuprofen.

Hmm, a strong flu of unknown characteristics, hits the nations of the world at the end of traditional flu season..

And the WORLD COMES TO AN END!!!..

sheesh..

Swine Flu 1976

Bird Flu 2005-2006-2007

Swine Flu 2007...

this is nothing like the Influenza Epidemic of 1918...

http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/influenza-epidemic/

Yet you'd think from the saturation coverage in the news that we're all gonna be covered in festering boils and die while screaming in pain...

I'm going to wear the new fashions for 2010..

if you have having a high fever now with most of the other flu's on the wain get to the doctor.
one thing they need to know just what you have. and there are special medications that can fight the flu.

one of the differences between this and the previous swine flu is that well this one is actually more then just swine flu and they were far more able to contain the swine flu to its primary hot zone of ft dix.

this one is already out scattered and they wont know till over the next month how things will go. though some things like the declining death rate in mexico, that people caught early enough respond well to treatment and the further removed the thing is from its oringinal hot zone for some odd reason it dosnt seem as potent.

so things may still work out without a whole lot more deaths .
but that this thing had aspects of different flu strains.. seemed to spread rather easily and at first was very agressive against the young and healthy made it something not to panic over but be concerned about.

really if the mexican governemnt had treated this thing seriously and by the book from the start we probably wouldnt be dealing with now.

oh yeah the avian virus possible threat hasnt gone away.
what maybe has kept it so far from mutating into an easily spread form has been all the percautions taken world wide.

I'm actually not feeling too good at the moment. Not really bad, but....not good. Couldn't keep dinner down before and now I'm coughing a little.

Normally I'd get some sleep and call it good, but under the circumstances....there's no downside to dropping by the doc-in-a-box tomorrow. I've got sick leave to burn and I never come close to using up my flexible medical coverage dollars anyway.

Especially with a flight coming up in a bit over a week, best to be on the safe side.

I don't know. Should pick up a thermometer!

Certainly not a bad one, because I don't feel unusually cold.

The symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular human flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue

but the real dangerous signs..
Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
Sudden dizziness
Confusion
Severe or persistent vomiting

I get confused all the time, I must have swine flu! OMG OMG OMG! what do I do! what do I do!

Joe Biden said everyone should stay off the subway and not go on planes!!!

WE'LL ALL GOING TO DIE!!!!

That said I'm now going to the mall before it closes because of a flu.

People will panic buy if this thing goes to level 6. I remember with the foot-and-mouth scares we had in 2001 in England, people did so then, and the shops were chaos. It doesn't have to be rational, but if it happens it happens.

So if we're going to be faced with busy shops, diminishing stock on some products, and possibly inflated prices as the supermarkets cash in on it, I think I'd rather panic buy before everyone else. ;)

At least the panic buying will stimulate the economy for a short time. ;)

^ Until NO ONE shows up for work and the whole planet shuts down over, what seems to be, a common flu outbreak.

Considering we shouldn't be at level 5 to begin with...

Read what Level 5 is, EVERY disease on the planet is a Level 5, the common flu is a level five. If people get sick from other people and there have been been deaths in two or more countries it's a level 5. However the only death that took place in the USA was from a Mexican.

Plus I have like 60 pounds of white rice, so I'm good. :)
