Ncuti Gatwa is the 15th Doctor

The dialogue I quoted mainly ("I'm fine because you fixed yourself", which he has obviously not done yet), plus some things Russell said in behind the scenes material. It's clear to me that is the intention.

How else would you interpret it?
To me it just looked like he split and just had all the same memories. That's literally what it looked like.

There was no other sign of 15 being from 14s future. That lone dialog sticks out like a sore thumb by itself. It might be RTD's intention but it didn't work onscreen.

I'm not really opposed to the idea though. Makes more sense about how 15 is recovered. Just not how it came across on screen though.

It is there in dialogue, but it’s muddied and rushed, and never expounded on enough to be clear. Two minutes of ‘I’m from the future of you. Of us.’ Or ‘It’s not time for you to go’ after they had a do over of ten’s original regen, fixing criticisms of it (this time it was fast, and had allonsy, instead of taking a month of touring and ‘I don’t want to go’) and addressing it in a real way with dialogue rather than what we got.
Even if ‘myths becoming real’ is something of a plan going forwards, this still needed a little more.
Agreed. If that was the intention even just a few lines saying I'm from your future. Visually, we just see a split so it seems like they're both from the same point in time.

I'm not even against the idea. Just that a bit more clarity would be nice. Having to explain behind the scenes inherently means that the actual scenes (or lack thereof) themselves failed their purpose!

THE DOCTOR: What the hell are you doing?
RUBY: I'm...just...there's--!
THE DOCTOR: But what did you do that for? Who sees a ladder, and just pops on? A ladder in the sky, and you thought "yeah, I'll give that a go, babe."

I like the Fifteenth Doctor already.

Naturally, it only took a millisecond for someone to make a parody of it already, using NSFW audio from Gatwa's tenure on Sex Education.

Ncuti's future on the show is uncertain after series two

https://uk.movies.yahoo.com/ncuti-gatwa-no-idea-doctor-100000723.html#:~:text=During an interview with Radio, love for it is growing."

During an interview with Radio Times magazine, the actor was asked whether his time on the BBC show would go beyond the second season and said: "No idea, no plan. I just know that I’m loving it and my love for it is growing."

So would we say by next year during his second season we'll know if there's some "farewell specials" planned for him?

Sounds to me that Gatwa is like many other working actors. Yeah, you can sign a multi-year deal with a show, but that doesn't mean it's guaranteed. When production of a show can be stopped for any reason for any length of time, all you can do is take it one series at a time and try not to get too far ahead of yourself, IMO.

Still too early to tell; the cartoon mallet TARDIS duplicator was a lot to suspend disbelief over, but other scenes made up for it. Some that include SPOILER tags, regarding the teaser video clips some are trying not to see. But the teasers are meant to bring in interest, especially when ratings are an understandable concern right now.)

Thanks for posting that! Seriously, I've not LOL'ed that loud in some time... that bit is hilarious and really well done! Time to check out the channel...

Another book lift incoming and basically already here then - Rassilon and the Time Lords as the forces of rationality that basically beat magic (and the vampires…) out of N-Space, and now there are no Time Lords, then the forces of chaos and magic will make their way back in.

Interesting thought and book. What's the book called?

Interesting thought and book. What's the book called?

Bunches of them, most of the EDAs by Lawrence Miles especially after Interference part one and two, but goes back further to Christmas On A Rational Planet. Even as far back as Times Crucible by Marc Platt, that was looking at the idea (with the Pythia and the Sisterhood of Karn as Gallifrey’s exiled Matriarchy) and building on elements introduced in the McCoy Era. RTD himself uses elements of it in Bad Therapy. It all traces itself back really to Terrance Dicks, who uses it in his novels but also the concept is seeded on TV in State of Decay way back in Season 18.
The Bowships and Rassilons war with the Vampires is also done alright in The Gallifrey Chronicles (the John Peel large format thing, not the later EDA novel) way back when.

I don’t think it’s an accident that Fenric was the Tales Of The Tardis, nor that the Gods of Ragnarok were name dropped in The Giggle either.
It’s a long standing bit of sort-of-canon-and-continuity that I can see RTD doing. Not well mind you. Moffat is more suited to the fairy tale aspect of Who, as he gets the feel right.

Edit: Arguably the Zenith of weird post-gallifrey forces of chaos business is The Adventuress of Henrietta Street. It’s an acquired taste.

Shouldn't it be bigenerated at this stage?

If the thread wasn't 43 pages long, it might've been worth it for the joke to split it into "David Tennant is the 14th Doctor" and "Ncuti Gatwa is the 15th Doctor."

Interesting - the Doctor Who Facebook page just uploaded a video about Ncuit Gatwa outfit/costume and he says that as the Doctor his hair is dyed light blue.

I didn’t see that but I thought I saw a blue tinge to him. But it made me think of the Irish for black person, which translates as “blue person” rather than black person. Niche. I know.

Is he senile?

Is he suddenly dumb?

He forgot how timelines work.

It doesn't matter how many times you yell at these women, they are never going to remember histories that they never experienced.

Dumber than Jo Grant.

"I have the whole universe at my fingertips" - it's not much of a universe thanks to the Flux, which continues to be officially addressed, and viewers are still wondering how much wasn't destroyed due to it. Unless it didn't happen, what with mavity replacing gravity and all. I'll be surprised if most stories aren't set in the postmodern* day Earth. And it's almost too easy to guess where the Beatles episode will go as well and will the Doctor be disheartened? Which means maybe it isn't too easy to guess at after all... either way, that one I'm looking forward to the most... aren't ellipses cool? Well...

* I finally looked it up; modern day is from 1500-1945 appx. Postmodern is 1946-whenever. Premodern is 1000-1500 appx. Etc, etc.

There was definitely one scene today where I could see the blue in his hair.

It's a trendsetter. Imagine previous eras doing the same thing. Colin's era definitely missed out on a big opportunity to have completed the visage. What with the coat and all, the hairdye could have added visual balance - or at least distract from the ensemble. A little highlighting can be fun (see Dr Finn from "The Orville" for more).

I saw a stray mention on the TARDIS wiki that, technically, the universe is 37.5% of its original size, since before the Flux, a quarter of it was destroyed in “Logopolis.”
