I like this episode because it borrows heavily from Asimov's 'psychohistory'.
That was his fictional theory about a branch of sophisticated mathematics which could predict the course of human history.
It is the basis for his 'Foundation' series of novels. The basic lesson there is that, yes, you can predict the course of civilization in a limited way but one man CAN make a difference.
And it is surprising that Bashir did not learn this lesson until the very end, since he saw with his own eyes how one man (Sisko in 'Sacrifice Of Angels') changed the course of the war with a single, unpredictable act.
And you will see the Jack Pack again. And, no, this is definitely NOT the end of the Dominion War. They retook the station but the War goes all the way to the final minutes of the show. Enjoy!!

Dukat is insane. Great work by both the actors, I didnt know what to expect from Dukat at every turn.

"Who Mourns for Morn?"
"Morn's death leads to a struggle among his former associates for possession of his valuables, which Morn has left to Quark."
One of the funner Quark episodes. Morn is hilarious and I hope we hear him speak before the show is over.

I know...Marc Alaimo was WONDERFUL in this one!!!
Sorry to disappoint you, but Morn never says a single word on screen.

What can I say about this episode? Well, I'm not eloquent enough to add anything new to the discussion. However, this has to be one of the best episodes of any Star Trek. This is one of the episodes that truly demonstrates what good Trek is all about. This episode is in my top three DS9 episodes, along with "Duet" and "The Visitor."

"O'Brien is sent to infiltrate the criminal Orion Syndicate, but becomes too close to one of his informants."
You could see that ending coming a mile away. What a shocker. The criminal was really not a bad guy. At least O'Brien got to have his own episode.

I thought this was a very good episode. And it had a cat in it.
"Change of Heart"
"On a dangerous away mission, Worf must choose between Starfleet's objectives and Jadzia's life."
I still don't like Worf and Jadzia as a couple. It just doesn't make sense. Who wanted to see more of Bashir and O'Brien in this episode? I did.

I didn't like that episode either--also because the whole marriage thing doesn't feel right to me. But even if Worf had let Dax die, it would've been a better episode than what it turned out to be. It just felt SO off. That hokey heartbeat effect...PLEASE!
Yeah, the heartbeat thing was a bit much, but I totally disagree about the other comments about that episode. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Trentman seems to be as biased against Jadzia as I am biased in favour of her, and I guess if that episode didn't make you realize and appreciate the depth of their relationship, none ever will.
For me it was bittersweet because I knew it was the last major episode to explore the character before her exit in the season finale and as a fan of her (and someone who appreciated her relationship with Worf, although I do agree it was a bit awkward and shallow at times), a nice bookend to that as well. I know they talk about parenthood in later episodes, but I skipped those...would be too painful to watch

The ending of "Change of Heart" along with the ending of "You Are Cordially Invited..." are the two that most sold me on the idea of Worf and Jadzia's relationship being of real substance and not just a plot contrivance to give the characters something to do (which is how some previous episodes and moments had made it look). I thought "Change of Heart" ended very poignant and touchingly. It's a shame others can't experience it the same way and enjoy the episode more as a result.
I enjoyed the Bashir and O'Brien subplot too (they're my favourite DS9 characters after Jadzia), but I think it was just long enough. I didn't mind that, unlike other subplots, it ended halfway through the show. It was a running gag joke plot that stuck around just long enough to avoid becoming stale, and was rightfully wrapped up early to give more time to the more important and powerful 'A' story. And I think it's an 'A' story in every sense of the word, both in terms of it being the main plot, and being of the highest quality for an episode. Jadzia didn't need to wisecrack even when she was almost dying and they didn't need to do the heartbeat thing, but I thought the rest was superb.

"After traveling through time with the help of an Orb, Kira discovers that her mother - whom she believed killed early in the Cardassian occupation of Bajor - was Gul Dukat's mistress."
Apparently anyone can time travel if they are curious. She could have seriously changed the future but that didn't matter. Why don't they just use this "time orb" to kill Dukat? Seems easy enough to me. Time travel stories and Star Trek get tiresome especially if they are done wrong as this one was.

I've always wondered if this one wasn't time travel, but more akin to a holodeck experience. In other words, you can LOOK back at time, but can't change anything. Taken that way, it doesn't really bother me.
I want to think of this episode that way, and it is the way I chose to view it the first time around, but then I remembered that they used the orb to go back in time in T&T with tangible consequences (saving the tribbles) so Kira probably was sent back in time. Time travel is a huge can of worms and should never be made as easy as it was in this episode.

"When Starfleet interrogates the crew in a search for a potential Dominion spy, Bashir emerges as the most likely suspect. To his shock, he learns ultimately that he was never believed guilty of any crime, but that a top-secret intelligence group called Section 31 wants to recruit him."
Great episode. Their rationale was completely believable and I actually thought that he could have been a spy. The open ended ending was a nice touch as well. Starfleet is starting to show its darker underbelly.
