More LCARS 24 schematics

I guess I didn't post an image of the full Ptolemy schematic, but it's here:

http://lcars24.com/schem68.html

As you can see, there's hardly any screen space left for an small image of the thing towing a freight train, even though I do like to put in a second view in any case where it clarifies things, as with the Apollo and LEM:

But I hate to make the Ptolemy inage any smaller.

For the TMP Vulcan warp shutlle, as well, a small aft view makes it clear to anyone not familiar with the structure. That's not done yet but coming along.

About LCARS programming, LCARS 24 is open source, and the latest sources are always available at SourceForge, but it requires not only programming skills and an artistic eye but also a dedicated computer and installation of and familiarity with the compiler and libraries. For me, it's fairly easy to convert an existing app from sources to an LCARS version, because the LCARS core really does most of the work, making the app itself and its code actually pretty small. Three of the games in LCARS 24, as well as the formula calculator, were written by others and adapted by me to get appropriate LCARS displays, and they are credited with having created the original code. The guy who wrote the calculator code said he perfected it over a period of 18 years, yet all I did was modify his I/O routine to be compatible with an LCARS interface I already had. The rest I had to struggle with from scratch.

I'd suggest that you do the pods seperate since
there are many variations ie Starliner, Carrier, Battlepod
Bulk material, Reefer, Nacelle transport etc Great work
by the way :techman::techman::techman::techman::techman:

I've a question about the Prometheus-class. Where you'd put the Mess hall (deck number and position) ? It would be nice to know :)

+ Possible place of Captain's quaters, brig, holodecks (if Prometheus has one) etc. :)

And possible place of "Battle Sickbay"? If there's one existing. I read from somewhere that, there's "Battle Sickbay" for bigger emergencys (There's only 1 bio-bed in main sickbay...).

The MSD I have was done by a contributor and is like the one seen on-screen, which I think must have been made even before the design of the ship was finalized. Just looking at the on-screen MSD, one might guess that there is a mess hall on deck 2, section 1, but I suspect that's wrong, since that MSD outline doesn't accurately represent the profile of the ship.

I would say the Prometheus didn't have a mess hall. Voyager originally didn't. Neelix created it, much to Captain Janeway's surprise. She said that room was supposed to be the captain's private dining room. This business about a mess hall on deck 5 identical in layout to Voyager's mess hall doesn't make sense to me. It's easy to spot Voyager's mess hall from outside the ship. No so with the Prometheus.

I also suspect that the two sections that separate from the main hull normally do so unmanned, totally under computer control. And since it was out on an early test flight of a prototype, I suspect that, at least at the time we saw it, the prototype lacked holodecks and other such amenities, which regular versions may well have if the was class continued.

^ Okay, thanks. What about the second sickbay? Is that possible anywhere in the ship? Or was it just fan-made creation?

On Voyager, sickbay is on deck 5. On the Prometheus, there may be one on deck 6 and one below it on deck 9, but I'm not sure, since I think the on-screen MSD has an error that could affect the whole deck layout.

Voyager had a mess hall to begin with. Take a look at Caretaker. Neelix created the kitchen out of Janeway's private dining thingymajig. Before that, the open air counter was a closed off wall with a replicator and some LCARS doohickeys.

Right. I remember that, now that you mention it: Tom's rant about pea soup.

Anyway, the contour of the Prometheus MSD makes it look like there is a mess hall in the same section as on Voyager, but that doesn't match the final design of the ship, in the rush to get those things ready, to be followed by years of scrunity.

I guess the Defiant deck plans are done.

And here's the type 10, scaled at 6.5 meters in length, to fit 120 meters for the Defiant itself:

Here it is with interior features rescaled and new figures for mass and dimensions, after Doug Drexler, who designed the type 10, was nice enough to join TrekBBS and give an "official" length for this shuttlecraft. So this should be the final version for this one, and it will be added at Cygnus Tuesday or thereabouts, along the the Defiant deck plans and Vulcan warp sled.

Yeah, well, If I ever work up the hubris to attempt deck plans again, it will probably be for the Nova class (eight decks).

One thing you don't notice by looking at the four indvidual screens of the Defiant deck plans is that everything is perfectly aligned so that nothing jumps when displayed in animation by my LCARS software, whose PowePoint clone lets the user flip from one to the next forward or backward, creating animation in the case of deck plans. So any other deck plans I might make would have to be carefully aligned the same way.

Don't be a p'taq, do the Galaxy deck plans!

I triple dog dare ya.

(Don't, you'll die trying. I don't want your death on my hands...)

I'd better just go back to kindergarten. Serves me right for skipping grades when I was a kid. EAS has a generous supply of interior screenshots of the type 15. That should make it a very easy MSD project. But at TrekBBS, at least in the art forum, I've learned that work on schematics for one shuttlecraft can be dragged out for years (not that any particular example comes to mind!).
