I thought about that particular issue for a time, especially after the scene with Layla in Superhero Mode and the girl admiring her.
Many people rail against wokeism and the push for women to get equal treatment ( some of them women), i have this in my private circle too and from a woman.
I am caucasian ( so is she) so we grew up with the status quo - most of the heroes out of Hollywood looked like us and we grew accustomed to it. This is changing because we realized that white people are not the majority in this world and we are mixing with other cultures at an increasing rate yet those cultures don't get the same recognition in mass appeal entertainment until now.
I've read so many reports about positive non-white role models - Black Panther being one of the biggest in recent years and that blew up like mad across the US and in the world - up to now with Moon Knight ( and especially Layla) and the upcoming Ms. Marvel show that will feature the first MCU muslim character.
I love it and i believe Marvel needs this diversity because how many times can you do battle in New York or a New York like western city before it gets old?
One thing that was also studied is that regions with a larger mix of different cultures have less problems with xenophobia and extremism because people get to experience other cultures first hand as opposed to predominantly homogenous regions that have more problems. So everything helps, even it is "just" superhero entertainment,
