Spoilers Moon Knight discussion

Still, considering everything I was very very happy. And Oscar Isaac put in a great performance throughout. But we have to be getting more Moon Knight right? They can't leave us with that credits scene and nothing more.

I'd be extremely suprised if Marvel let such a big loose thread dangling without some kind of resolution - i expect some kind of announcement in the next few weeks or even months but something has to happen with that, especially how well the show was received.

Wait, this was the final episode?

Maybe Moon Knight could hijack a couple episodes of some upcoming series that is nominally supposed to be centered around another character, and the plot can be furthered developed there. :shifty:

Kind of like how the Book of Boba Fett was hijacked by Mando?

2 things to take away from this - apparently Isaac would gladly reprise the role ( initially it was reported that he only took the role if it remained a limited engagement with Marvel, i.e. one season) and apparently everyone involved planned the show as if a continuation in some kind of form would be guaranteed.

It is still not clear how that will look like, will Moon Knight join a Team Up show ala Defenders or will he get a movie? There's still the fact that Marvel has entered Moon Knight as a Limited Series for the Emmys thus effectively saying there will be no solo 2nd season ( what happens with the Emmy's if they break that promise later in, would they potentially have to give the Emmy back?).

No because Little Big Lies already went down that route.

I have a lot of problems with Eternals but the characters were not one of them..
The characters and their relationships were the only thing worth watching. I didn't hate that. The rest, don't get me started. Trying to shoehorn this into the rest of MCU gives me headaches I don't need. Stripping it out of the MCU leaves me with a romcom that didn't need superpowers.

I'm just forgetting it, other than treating it as a less enjoyable knock-off of Pacific Rim. Would have made a decent Asylum film. "Eternalmageddon!!!"

ETA: I love Asylum. They don't pretend to be anything but what they are, and occasionally come up with gems.

John Campea brings up a potential huge plot hole. How do we reconcile the 3rd personality with ep 5? In ep 5, Taweret pulls out 2 hearts and they don't balance until Marc comes to terms with Steven. But how can the two hearts balance given there is a 3rd personality? What about the 3rd personality? How come Taweret did not pull out 3 hearts? And how did the 2 hearts balance if there is a 3rd personality? Basically, all of ep 5 seems to be based on 2 personalities. It seems to fall apart if you introduce a 3rd personality. One possibility is that the Steven and Marc were completely unaware of the 3rd personality so it was completely hidden. But that still leaves the question of how come an Egyptian god like Taweret who weighs the hearts of the people going to the after life, not know about the 3rd personality.
Because the two personalities ARE (as a whole) the third personality, even if they don't realize it; and it seems they 'whole' personality hasn't emerged until very recently? - OR - Khonshu is doing what he needs to to keep the other two personalities completely unaware.

I really hope this one doesn't get a second season because honestly, it just didn't work for me on any level. It could have been done in 4 episodes easily and been tighter. Plus for me the final scene was a bit TOO dark, and really makes me not like the character or Khonshu; and I like to root for the hero in my comic books - but that's me.

Well, they had mentioned it was going to be darker than the other MCU series. We knew early on that Khonshu was all about executing the... unredeemable I guess is a good way to put it, which Steven had a hard time dealing with. We knew that Marc and Steven would both black out and awaken surrounded by butchered henchmen. The end credits scene was shocking, not in its violence, which was barely shown, but by its callousness and Jake's creepy expression. Dark, yes, but intense through subtlety rather than gore. I get why it bothered you, but it fit in with what was hinted at all along.

If there is no follow up series/movie it was actually a good ending, wrapping up the plot, ending Ammit apparently for good, and leaving the viewers to continue the story of Marc, Steven, and Jake in our own imaginations.

So, you hope it doesn't get a second season because you didn't enjoy it? What about all the people who did? Can't you just not watch it?
Given that the resources in time or limited for anything like this, given all the characters that are in the Marvel universe that we haven't seen on screen, sorry, but yes I'd rather they resources towards some other characters in the Marvel Universe, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks!

Layla as Taweret's Avatar is just so awesome ( and i loved that scene with the girl she saved "Are you an egyptian superhero? - Yes")

Khonshu finally revealing Jake Lockley

Even if the final episode can't hold the emotional level it was a satisfying end to a degree with the caveat that they continue somehow, if not i'll be really pissed.
Absolutely agreed on all points!

In terms of my perverse mastubatory fantasies, it works. Is it REALLY just about equal representation?
:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

I thought about that particular issue for a time, especially after the scene with Layla in Superhero Mode and the girl admiring her.

Many people rail against wokeism and the push for women to get equal treatment ( some of them women), i have this in my private circle too and from a woman.

I am caucasian ( so is she) so we grew up with the status quo - most of the heroes out of Hollywood looked like us and we grew accustomed to it. This is changing because we realized that white people are not the majority in this world and we are mixing with other cultures at an increasing rate yet those cultures don't get the same recognition in mass appeal entertainment until now.

I've read so many reports about positive non-white role models - Black Panther being one of the biggest in recent years and that blew up like mad across the US and in the world - up to now with Moon Knight ( and especially Layla) and the upcoming Ms. Marvel show that will feature the first MCU muslim character.

I love it and i believe Marvel needs this diversity because how many times can you do battle in New York or a New York like western city before it gets old?

One thing that was also studied is that regions with a larger mix of different cultures have less problems with xenophobia and extremism because people get to experience other cultures first hand as opposed to predominantly homogenous regions that have more problems. So everything helps, even it is "just" superhero entertainment,
There are not enough Like buttons for the above! :luvlove:
