What a great chart. Thanks for posting it!
Ditto. That chart neatly illustrates the correlation (or lack thereof) between spending and results.

No, but he'll probably hit 590.
Peg, apparently his sons are worse than he is. Great.

You mean his sons that are 70+ years old? Yeah, from what I've heard they aren't exactly the type to embrace new thinking. But who knows?
Jason Giambi is coming back to the A's. Not sure how I feel about that. He's a good player, but then he went to the Dark Side and shaved off everything. I guess if he contributes all will be forgotten. If not, he will be booed off the field.
Well the A's need all the hitting they can get, and with Giambi and Holliday the middle of that order is looking pretty good.Jason Giambi is coming back to the A's. Not sure how I feel about that. he can still be useful as he will hit 25 or 30 homers.he just doesnt hit for average anymore. he's not much of a fielder though. my guess is that they will dh him.
I think he'll stick with LA.
!@#$ Frank Wren for letting John Smoltz go.
The Sox have just reportedly signed Rocco Baldelli, and evidently John Smoltz in not far behind him.
Seeing Baldelli in a Sox uniform is going be special, and being a local guy makes that even better. However, all I can say about Smoltz is, if they sign him, it will be weird to not see him in a Braves uniform, but I am glad to say he will be in a Boston one. That is one classy guy right there, and a positive influence on any team.
Pretty official now: Smoltz has signed with the Sox, and will complete the deal as early as tomorrow.
