In my other post I started talking about the content and the rating, not the tone. I just can't see them bringing characters from the very adult, TV-MA Netflix series over into the MCU movies. They're not going to want to be seen as encouraging their younger fans to watch adult shows. The only way I could see it happening, is if they are off in an R-rated MAX style side series that doesn't have any impact on the rest of the MCU.

I'm aware of some diehard, young MCU fans who also watched the Netflix series. Disney might have cold feet adding the Netflix characters to the MCU, but fans would find that to be the most exciting, fresh addition to hit this franchise in a long time.

Oh, we're talking about Starlin again! I recently re-read some of his Warlock run, and I still think its the best work he's done (or at least of what I read of his, which is most of what he's done).

Agreed. His take on Warlock was HEAVILY influenced by Michael Moorcock’s Elric of Melnibone’, a character I became a fan of a few years later. (One of Marvel’s first graphic novels was an adaptation of the first Elric story.) Still, he’s never even approached that level of greatness since. I remember buying Infinity Gauntlet and stopping about halfway through because it was just shit. Never wasted money on the follow ups, and was probably buying almost exclusively DC by that point anyway.

I used to have the pre Starlin run on Counter Earth, and the Starlin run, but lost them after Hurricane Harvey. Need to pick up the trade, as that run is a must own for me.

Exactly.

Bringing in Daredevil or Punisher would be just like that.

And if the younger X-Fans didn't complain, then there's no issues for Disney.

Anyways, we saw essentially what Punisher could be like on the big screen with Ronin in Endgame. And if folks are scared about how bloody Daredevil is...just have him fight nonhumans who don't bleed easy.

I love that the pre- Starlin Warlock story was essentially a retelling of the life of Jesus Christ.

When he was known as "Him", Warlock discovered Counter Earth and its creator, the High Evolutionary, who adopted Warlock as a son and gave him the name that he has been known by ever since.

When the Evolutionary decided that his experiment was a failure, Warlock, the chosen son of the world's creator, came to counter Earth in an attempt to save its people.

He gathered followers, one of whom betrayed him leading to his crucifixion. He returned from the dead, not the last time he'll pull that trick, saved Counter Earth from evil, and left his followers behind to travel the stars, promising to return some day.

I mean, it wasn't even subtle.

No one complained that Logan was an R Rated movie when his prior appearances in the X-Men movies had all been PG or PG13.
That's a fair point, although that is a bit more of a special case since it was kind of off by itself.
Like I said before, I could see Marvel kind of setting up a more adult offshoot of the MCU that exists kind of off to the side. I could also see the major characters, like Dr. Strange, Hulk, or Black Panther appearing in their shows or movies, but I doubt the crossover would go the other way. I also wouldn't expect them to impact the overall plot in a big way, like the first the Thor or Captain America movies did the Infinity Saga.

They might have, but I can't imagine Disney will want to be seen as encouraging 10 year olds to watch R-rated movies, especially with their family friendly image.
Looks like we might find out sooner than later what Marvel is going to do with the characters from the Netflix series. The rights return to Marvel 2 years after the Netflix shows were canceled, and we will be hitting that mark for each of the shows in just a few months.
Luke Cage and Iron Fist will hit that mark in October, Daredevil will hit it in November, and Jessica Jones and The Punisher will in February.

That could work.
I guess if The Flash can pull off characters like Gorilla Grodd, and King Shark, M.O.D.O.K. actually wouldn't be that hard to do. And a Freeform should might actually be able to get at least a slightly bigger budge than a CW show.

MODOK wouldn't be that hard to do as an animatronic effect, like the aforementioned Face of Boe. He's not very mobile, so you'd just need to create facial expressions and arm movements. His legs are probably atrophied so he wouldn't move them much. And aside from that, it's just a matter of levitating the chair, which is simplicitly itself with digital wire/rod removal.

Although a CGI version would be easy enough to do for the same reason.

So I've been working on a Marvel movie rewatch and I am up to Black Panther.

I say this every time I watch--Killmonger committed no crime under Wakanda law.

And? He was rightfully defeated in a ritual combat to the death that was his choice to enter. And let's not pick nits. Legality notwithstanding, Killmonger was a murderous POS and wannabe warlord who got what he deserved.

Speaking of MODOK, seems like a good place to dump this new Avengers game trailer.

I'd be really surprised if Disney would want to splinter off the MCU into projects that couldn't find a home on Disney+ which is adamantly PG-13 and below. I could see them folding in their own new interpretations of those characters into the MCU but in a manner that hews closer to their formula.

He was not the rightful ruler because his opponent neither died nor yielded. That makes all his actions (such as destroying the Heart-Shaped Herb) ultravires and illegal.
