If this is similar to the comics, it is possible that the "big guns" lose early on, but not in a "not coming back" kind of way.

My guess it is the reverse - Steve does not want to go back into the fray because he's retired and has a son but after the b-listers get wiped out, he gets called into action. What's tricky to work out is that this is really one film spilit into two so hard to work out if they place certain beats in the first part or the second?

In a “gotcha” moment/ surprise the Steve Rogers teaser is actually the LAST scene for “secret invasion”

After the humongous/ multiverse battles from both movies Steven Rogers comes home to his new born child

Russo Brothers- Gotcha! You saw something we setup for two years

I think part of what you're missing here is there's a much, much larger audience for content attacking women than content attacking people of color. There are lots of young men (of all races) who have resentments towards women (often due to a lack of luck in dating) which can be exploited by bad actors and/or grifters out for clicks. In contrast, the racial resentment audience is smaller, and more importantly, skews older and isn't as likely to use YouTube and the like.

Oh I agree that people have more outlets for their outrage. But generally speaking if someone likes a movie or tv show that stuff goes away, at least during that short period of time they are enjoying the show. Plus their is the fact that content creators mostly focus on long standing IP shows and movies that are not very good. They can hide their bigotry behind legit criticisms for the show and movie.

I have noticed their style. If a show or movie is good they will maybe make a few small nitpicks and then focus on how much the show or movie is failing to make it's money back. Or isn't popular. Even if it's not true .For example as much I am sure they have bigotry based issues with Pluribus and Welcome to Derry, even they recognize the quality so they can't go after them like 2016 Ghostbusters or something like that.

The viewers of the shows, who are not content creators still though will watch Pluribus and Welcome to Derry and enjoy them, even find something to root for. LIke I just know lots of these types of people love the Manousos character while at the same time complain about how Carol is a Karen. With Welcome to Derry it is of course Pennywise and even Richie characters they gravitate to while no doubt still having issues with the lack of white characters who aren't bad guys on the show. Probably like the Dick Halloran character as well. But despite liking these shows and these characters you know they will still go watch content complaining about wokeness and even making comments about it as well.

People have taken a shine to him.
When I'm watching shows, a lot of times names don't stick with me. I didn't get who the character was until about halfway through the series. I'd never really thought about the character beyond the context of the novels, but now I'd love to have King write Dick's backstory pre-Overview Hotel.

Most people didn't really seem to like Secret Invasion, so I really can't see them going back to that. And as far as I know Doomsday doesn't involve the Skrulls or Fury, so I'm sure why they would. I guess they could bring G'iah back to help deal with Doom, but with so many other more popular characters to choose from, that seems unlikely. I can't imagine they'd bring her back before Kate Bishop, Moon Knight, or She Hulk.
