Vincent D’Onofrio says the trailer for ‘DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAINʼ was postponed because of the LA wildfires.

Finn was such a missed opportunity. From what I remember from the story, he was a child soldier brought up with a particular worldview. This could lead to all sorts of interesting stories and dilemmas, and Boyega is a capable actor who could do that. However, it goes nowhere, and he becomes a generic, almost side-kick-like character.

It was so disappointing that by TROS, Abrams apparently forgot entirely Finn's backstory, and just has him cheering in an uncomplicated manner as stormtroopers are slaughtered.

In case you missed it, Shang Chi did not feature / star a Black person, so there was no demand made of Disney/Marvel. but you would have known this, if you were not guided by the desperate urge to defend the MCU at every turn.

It DID feature someone outspoken against the CCP though, which is even worse. Same with the Director of the Eternals.

For the record, Boyega and others were correct the blistering criticism of Disney/LFL and their deliberate marginalizing of the actor (and his character) in the film and in its marketing.

Finn was never meant to be more than a plot device to get Rey involved in the main plot. He wasn't even supposed to survive TFA to begin with. He was never going to be the main lead.

The whole reason Finn's backstory rarely comes up, or him not caring when other Troopers (who he would have grown up with) were killed? Because the writers never saw him as a character to start with and who would be dead by the end of the movie anyways.

This is why he didn't get much to do in TLJ and ROS, because the writers never expected he'd survive TFA and didn't have a clue what to do.

Actually, it was Poe who wasn't supposed to survive the first movie.
Right. Poe was supposed to die in the TIE fighter crash. They rewrote the ending to bring him back because Isaac proved to have such good chemistry with Boyega.

It was both of them. Poe wasn't supposed to survive that opening bit that gets Finn to Jakku and Finn himself was supposed to die instead of going into a coma.

Rey was the only character the writers saw as a "Main character" in TFA, as opposed to a new "Trio".

Nothing quotable, just that I knew Poe wasn't supposed to make it meaning the writers weren't going for a "Trio" in the ST. The lack of Finn playing a major role and how they never once seemed to really take his "Former Stormtrooper" thing seriously even in TFA sure makes it seem like he was supposed to just die in the battle with Ren and not conveniently fall into a coma.

So it's just you assumption then? You don't have an actual source for it?

No, just knowing Poe wasn't supposed to live and the general way the movie went made it seem like Finn going into a coma instead of dying was a last minute choice

What they should have done is make the first movie mostly about the old characters creating a new rebellion to fight against the rise of the First Order under Kylo Ren. Luke discover Rey and notices she has the powers of a Jedi. Han and Leia discover Poe. Finn is with the bad guys most of the first movie but we see his conscious growing and at the end of the movie he switches side. When the movie ends Han has died. Luke has left with Rey to train her. Leia realizes the importance Poe and Finn will play in this fight. We also see a instant connection between Finn and Poe. A romantic connection.

Second movie has Leia dying from a disease. She will need someone to replace her as leader and realizes Finn is the best choice. Luke trains Rey and in the third act she leaves for the big fight. Luke and Leia die together in a tear jerking scene and Rey, Finn and Poe come together as the new faces of the rebellion to win the big fight that ends with Kylo Ren being captured.

Third movie has Thrawn as the new leader who plans to do what Kylo Ren couldn't. In the end though our heroes save the day. Luke,Leia and Han all show up as force ghosts. Lando comes back to help the new characters. Kylo also switched sides and we find out he also has Jedi powers and the movie ends with Rey willing to teach him how to embrace the force and to become a better person. Someone his parents would be proud of. FInn is the new Leader and becomes President or some title like that of the New Republic. He marries Poe who is still a lovable rogue who now serves as second of command to Chewie who is now Captain of the Falcon.

I'm confused, do you have a source or not?

I honestly think there shouldn't have been a sequel trilogy at all. At least, not unless it's put centuries later. Because it implies that the rebellion was mostly worthless, not amounting to more than a generation of peace and prosperity before everything went to shit again.

I mean that does make sense. But I do think a one off movie with the old gang would still have been a good idea. What I think people wanted was at least one last ride with their favorites before getting into the new characters that would hopefully move SW forward into the future.

I like the scene when OBI-Wan tells young Luke 'With Great Power Comes great responsibility" before Vadar kills him because Luke was angry that Han was going to get the Big reward for rescuing Leia and let Vadar walk past him without doing anything.

I do like the hype on that cover. It was released in April of 1977, weeks before the movie, which was apparently already "The Greatest Space Fantasy of All-Time" and "the Monumental 20th Century Fox Movie!" Plus it names drops Lucas like everyone should know his name.
