Works for me but I have no loyalties towards the character (I only just saw the first movie a few months ago and it wasn't for me). I'm curious about the concept of Midnight Sons and it would be a good way to finally bring back Jack, Elsa, and Ted. If the film is a big hit, then hopefully that can lead to a solo film at long last.

I get the feeling that when Ko(r?)vac says, that they'll be making the "last movie on Earth", that he's not being metaphorical.

Switching gears to a Midnight Sons movie does sound like the best way to finally get the MCU's Blade on screen (and not just in a voice cameo) and to resolve that cliffhanger where he warns Dane against taking up the Ebony Blade. Mahershala Ali isn't getting any younger. It would be a great way to bring back characters we've only seen in the streaming world, like Moon Knight, as well as Elsa Bloodstone and Jack Russell (and Ted!), and I would also hope that they would use it as their means of introducing Johnny Blaze into the MCU.

The first Blade movie came out in '98, the first X-Men in 2000. There were no theatrical movies released between them. And the only Marvel property that had a theatrical movie prior to that was Howard the Duck. :D

I haven't looked it up, but I remember the Blade trilogy a big deal. I guess that Spider-Man was the big movie around that time though. It was one of the first Hollywood movies I saw with my wife when we were dating and my first year or two on this board.

Likely - he is surely https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korvac

Unless deliberate misdirection?

Weren't the Blade movies the biggest profit makers for Marvel up until The X-Men?
I'd argue that Blade kicked off the modern era of comic book movies and gave confidence to other studios that these films could succeed. It did pretty well for an R rated comic book movie. I remember people seeing it at the theater and saying how cool the film was.
The character also got the biggest pop when he returned in 'Deadpool Vs. Wolverine'. That's also due to Wesley Snipes but still. It's a bankable character with a lot of nostalgia attached. So that's why I don't see Marvel ditching the solo Blade movie. Maybe they can do a passing of the baton between Snipes and Ali in Secret Wars....

It's a shame Punisher 1989 never got a theatrical release in the US. It did well abroad.

At the time when I didn't have as much knowledge about comics I had no idea that Blade was even based off a comic book. I just thought they were cool vampire movies.
