I think you should think very carefully before you start taking pot shots at a woman of colour speaking on opression in hollywood

Tessa Thompson is not being "oppressed"... and the fact that you think she is suggests that you have an issue that needs to be worked out with a trained professional.

Spoken like a true person who knows nothing of opression.

A comic book movie directly adapting a particular storyline and bringing back the actress who portrays the character that is the star of said storyline is not oppressing the actress who plays another character who had nothing to do with said storyline, so you really need to

I mean in this role. Should have read "here comes Jane foster"

On the one hand we have Valkyrie who has fought evil gods and been a bounty hunter on a ruthless dangerous planet

In the other, Jane Foster who one time a guy pinched her bum at college, she knows true opression

I get being disappointed that Tessa isn’t going to be more of a focus in the next Thor movie. She’s great. I do wonder if the poor showing of Men In Black had something to do with going with the very popular Jane Foster as Thor comic rather than something more original focusing on Thor and Valkyrie.

Right now in the comics, Jane Foster is a Valkyrie. In fact, I believe she's the only remaining Valkyrie. The first issue of her solo book was released this week.

Tessa is the triple "co-lead" in this movie along with Hemsworth and Portman.

She's not being "passed over", "relegated to second-fiddle", or "minimized".

And yet what was the crowning image coming out of comic con

Portman holding Mjolnir

I rest my case

They were just making a big deal because it was the first we'd heard about it, that doesn't mean she's going to be the focus of the movie. You really can't judge what the final movie is going to be like based on a Comic-Con panel that didn't even show any footage, and where nobody even said what the plot of the movie is actually going to be.
Based on the release date, would they even be done with the script yet?

Oh come off it, you can't have *two* attractive female characters in the same story, that's be ridiculous! Everyone knows female agency is a zero sum game and it's not like the hero get's to end up with both of them! ;)
