Major League Baseball 2009

That had to be one of the strangest games I have ever seen. It had an in-the-park home run and an unassisted triple play to end it.

Also I think I'd prefer Jamie Moyer in the #5 spot over Pedro Martinez.

FUCK!!! After that same plop clown blew it twice in a row, one run home, two men on, you figure even the Mets will get a break today for once.

Why do I even bother?!?!? Unassisted triple play. What's next, seriously. Just end it all now.

I saw that play at work and I was curious if it ended the game. I'm glad to hear it did, that's pretty awesome.

Moyer has had a better ERA recently than Cole Hamels, fwiw.

Yanks won 2 out of three, but each team scored 29 runs for the weekend, so really wasn't a "who's your daddy" situation, no matter how you'd like to state it. Likely puts the division title out of reach, but as long as the wild card is still available, doesn't REALLY matter. Yankees will just go out west and get spanked by the Angels anyway...

And what's up with the spam link?

^It likely puts the division title out of reach. But all the Yanks have to do is look crosstown to see what can happen to big leads in September.

And the Mets find yet another way to lose...I really thought they were due for a late rally for once there. It had all the makings of it. Two men on, no outs, winning run at the plate. Then the guy who muffed the last two plays gets an unassisted triple play. Crazy sport.

^Heh, I thought the Phillies were going to blow it for most of the game, what with the way Martinez kept giving up hits (and then Durbin, and then Madson, and then Lidge...well, those were not really hits because of the THREE lovely errors). I almost turned off the game there at the end in favor of playing the piano.

your guess is as good as mine! must be a virus in my computer. i saw that as soon as i made my post. i certainly wouldnt put that on here intentionally.your probably right about the angels. they always do spank yanks.btw , boston had better start playing better or the wild card will be out of reach.however, i do realize that they have been hurt by injuries this year.the "whos your daddy " comment was just a tweek! i knew you couldnt resist responding to that.i know you and i have had our moments, but i enjoy our little back and forth debates.;)

Another bad loss by the Tigers today. It's not helping their playoff chances when they fail to put away last place teams.
I know the feeling- the Twins have a habit of losing to the bottom feeders. But they bucked that trend this weekend and swept Kansas City, so they're not out of it yet. Detroit has the upper hand, but the Twins, Chicago and Detroit all have 6 games to play against each other, so the race for the AL Central title could be tight.

Nice triple play by Eric Burntlett. Helluva way to end a screwy game.

^I'm actually more worried about the Twins overtaking the Tigers than I am the White Sox. Chicago plays a pretty brutal schedule down the stretch, and Detroit's isn't much better. Minnesota's actually sets up pretty nicely for them to make a run.

The Twins are a good team, and if a non-Tigers team is going to take the division, I would much rather have it be the Twins than the evil Chicago White Sox. ;)

How could a virus possibly affect a TrekBBS post?

Oh, and good win last night, Yanks. ;)
just a guess on my part. i posted my thoughts and when i did that link popped up out of nowhere.as i said before i have no idea how or why that happened!it's a mystery to me.:wtf:

The Twins' schedule may look easier, but they struggle against teams they should do well against.

But if not the Twins, I'd rather see Detroit win. Anyone but the White Sox.

The Rockies have signed Jason Giambi and are going to bring him up in September when the rosters expand. This guy isn't any good unless he's on the sauce, he hit .193 this year before the A's cut him loose. He also once was quoted as say "Baseball in Colorado is a joke." after an interleague game at Coors Field.
Bad move Rocks; But then again you're used to making bad aquisitions. Please fire Dan O'Dowd now.

I'm glad that we AL Central people are on the same page about the most important thing. The White Sox need to lose. ;)
