It's sad, but you almost expect the other shoe to drop on these can't miss prospects these days. Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Francisco Liriano, etc.
It's like the guy will have 3 brilliant months followed by 5 years of Tommy John surgery, busted rotator cuff, hamstring tear, etc...

Wow... the Braves really took it to the Mets last night... season high hits and runs. Payback's a bitch. 
Good comeback by the Tigers today. They were down 6-2, and came back, winning in the bottom of the ninth. With the White Sox only 2.5 games back, this was definitely a good win.
I heard Bobby Valentine wants to come back to the majors. As if we don't already have enough reasons to fire Omar Minaya (who will NOT allow Valentine to manage the Mets as long as he's GM)...
Just got back from the Rockies/Nationals game. Rockies beat 'em again, 4-1. Screech the Eagle is not happy...

So it's a two game lead going into the weekend. Why do I have a bad feeling about this four game series and it could spell the end of any Wild Card hopes. Maybe I'm just too pessimistic and can't wait till Football season.

If I lived in D.C. I would probably go and cheer for every other team that was there.
Big series for the Sox/Yankees this weekend. This could get the Sox right back in it, or finish them off for the Division and leave them hurting for the wild card as well.
I'm headed to NYC for the weekend for family stuff, but am going to check out the Mets' (fiance's family are Mets fans) new field while I'm there, provided I don't get hurricane-related cancellations...

The Red Sox claim Billy Wagner off waivers from the Mets. I would like to see him on the Sox, since his stuff last night was pretty damn good, and its not much of a risk to get him. A Papelbon, Bard, Okajima, Wagner, Ramirez and Saito bullpen sounds pretty damn tough to get to.
