Looks like the Braves are going to be getting another outfielder soon! I thought Josh Anderson was going to cut it... but I guess not.

It's official - Gary Sheffield to the Mets. I think he provides a little more pop in the outfield over the combination of Tatis/Murphy/Church, but I'm leery about his age, declining numbers last year, and the ridiculous stuff that comes out of his mouth at times.

Oh my God, that new Yankee Stadium looks sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet...I can't WAIT to see it. Nice to see the Yankees won their first game there! :techman:

I watched the Yankees/Cubs game on MLB.TV last night. It was very cool. Almost makes me want to buy the service. I think it would be well worth it if I had the time to watch more than one game a day!

Reminder:

Sunday night, 8/7c Atlanta Braves (Derek Lowe) @ Philadelphia Phillies (Brett Myers)

Anybody know why Saturday's Mets/Sox game (on MLB Network) cut out in the bottom of the 9th? There were 2 outs, and all of a sudden it goes to the test pattern and never comes back.

^ I don't think MLB.TV would work for me. Sitting at a computer for three hours would be uncomfortable.

And they do say they have HD quality, but watching it on a computer screen rather than an actual HDTV would seem to defeat the purpose...

(I have an iMac, and I don't think it has an output to another screen)

In honor of the Mets losing 7 games in which they had a lead the 9th inning or later, MLB.com is now offering the 'blown save' package, in which an otherwise crisp telecast falls apart late in the game.

Derek Lowe - 0.00 ERA - awesome for my fantasy team
CC Sabathia - 12.46 ERA - ugh
Justin Verlander - 12.00 ERA - double ugh

While I'm all for winning, this way is for the birds, Diamondbacks.

Friggin heart attacks every half inning? Chasing Webb in 4? Please not again, thankyouverymuch.

Though the 5 knocks and the two switch hitters hitting one from each side each was way cool.

Iannetta stealing second - :lol::lol:

^ CC is an elbow or back operation waiting to happen. The Brewers beat him like a rented mule last year - he threw a ton of innings. And he's carrying around a lot of extra weight.

Burnett has really only had a couple of successful, injury free seasons.

I think the Texeira deal was great, but AJ and CC are a little questionable for what they paid. They basically bid against themselves.

So Josh Beckett dominated the Rays yesterday, 7 innings, 2 hits, 3 BB, 10K. Great day for him and the Sox as they won 5-3. Hopefully his performance is a sign of things to come.

Randy Johnson makes his AT&T park Debut tonight. Never thought I'd see the day when Johnson was in a Giants Uniform. Looking forward to that.

What he provides is a semi-dependable bat off of the bench to fill-in during pinch hit situations and when Church and Murphy need a day off.

1.) Murphy and Church are your corner outfielders... period. If they're healthy they're not going anywhere. Why Mets fans think otherwise is beyond me.

2.) Sheffield and Tatis are not going to be regular players

3.) Don't worry about Sheffield being disruptive, he's lucky to have job and he knows it.
