Right. We lost the last game, but won the series. I'm glad I went to the Friday and Saturday games, but not the Sunday game. :p

Good games... great crowd... lot of Red Sox fans though, lol...

Looks like the Royals blew it again. Oh well, at least they have a nice newly renovated stadium to play in. And I got a cool free Monarchs jersey out of the whole thing. :)

Will the real Jon Lester please stand up? Finally he brings his A-game and K's 12.

Yeah, nice to see them pull it together with a couple solid efforts and win the series after that tailspin of a road trip. Hopefully the good Doctor can keep things going with another win against the Angels tomorrow.

Incidentally, if I was JP Riccardi, I'd be looking at trying to make a trade for a solid number 2 guy to add to the rotation. Maybe offer up Rios for a
veteran who can pitch in the 12-15 wins range? That would really shore up the rotation.

I'm not so sure I would be willing to offer up Rios. I really like the guy. He hasn't been living up to what he can do this year yet, but he has so much potential. In the Friday game, he went 4 for 4, and looked very sharp on the field... if only Wells could cash him in once in awhile.

I like our current lineup. I like our pitching staff. It just needs to stay together like it did in April. A solid number two would be nice though...

^ I like Rios too, but he's arguably our most tradable player. We have more depth in the outfield than anywhere else, so if we were going to trade someone, I'd say he'd be the one. Unless someone actually wants to take B.J. Ryan for us. ;)

Ryan has a huge salary, but I think he will bounce back to near his old form. He's still struggling a bit with his control, occasionally leaving pitches out over the plate for batters to hit, but when he his sharp, his pitches are as unhittable as say, Papelbon's.

Survived Little League Day at the Giants. Good game(winna), lots of fun with the kids parade before the game and run the bases afterwards.

You went to Friday's game? So did I and I peed my pants when I saw Doug Gilmour (hate the Leafs and Flames, though, ugh).

I was up in level 525 (behind home plate).

Hey, did you see the guys in level 100 arguing and the one guy throw his drink as the cop grabbed him? That was AWESOME.

You, too, can simulate being a Cubs fan by just following these easy steps:

1. Find a $100 bill on the ground.

2. Bend over to pick it up and immediately get kicked HARD in the junk from behind.

3. As you stagger around, half-blind and vomiting, someone else snatches the money away.

4. Repeat 162 times a year (165 if you want to simulate the post-season) for 100 years.

Well, Dice-K brought his ERA down to a cool 7.17  in a Sox win.

Jason Bay is just a HR machine these days. :)

Oh yes, the joy of watching Dice K. It's fucking painful, thats all I can say.

Great work by the bullpen, including Papelbon, who had that shit all the way.

They still need to get a bat though. Im looking at you Adrian Gonzalez....

I can't do it. It's like torture.

What position? Youk's fantastic at first, and the Sox could use more depth (and no Julio Lugo) at SS.

Honestly, my optimum plan would be Gonzalez at first, Youk at third, and Lowell DHing. Im sorry, but in this situation, Papi is riding the pine. The guy, and I love him as much as the next Sox fan, is toast at the moment, and shows no signs of getting out of it.

I'm a diehard Braves fan, but I did follow the Cubs last year after Atlanta essentially gave up midway through the year by dealing Mark Texeira, Will Ohman, etc. I always cheer for the Cubs unless they're playing the Braves because I really would like to see them win the series again.. and I play on moving to Chicago within the next few years.

Anyway... I get out of class and turn on the ballgame and see that the Cubs are up 5-3 in the bottom of the eight. The Braves hardly ever come from behind and just seem to give up anytime they're losing. Well, what a thrilling victory in the bottom of the 12th! ;)

Aaron Heilman sucks by the way... the Mets didn't want him and the Cubs shouldn't stick with either.

Braves Today:

Obtained Nate McClouth from the Pirates in exchange for Jeff Locke, Charlie Morton, and Gorkys Hernandez

Released (Screwed over) Tom Glavine

Will call up top pitching prospect Tommy Hanson for Saturday's game

Kinda shocking trade, really. Pirates dumping their best player, without appearing to get much of anything. At least my fantasy teams get a boost with my boy McLouth playing for a real major-league baseball team :)

For what the Braves paid, a LOT of teams should have been in on that deal.

To be honest, though, McLouth wasn't helping the Giants. Talk about a team with some problems...
