Spoilers Lower Decks General Discussion Thread

I was wondering if they were going to do a TFF-variant poster for S5. A shame there won't be a S6 (at least, not any time soon). I would like to have seen their TUC variant. 9 days to go!

Comedy Central series @midnight airs after Late Night with Stephen Colbert on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
On Monday night the three guests were Tawny Newsome, Eugene Cordero, and Jerry O’Connell from Lower Decks.

Tawny is such a gift to Star Trek - may she be involved in all sorts and forms for a long time to come.
She's basically a walking memory alpha Star Trek knowledge base with quick, witty humor, as well as excellent acting on stages, sets and mics (+ possibly writing too)

If you don't watch the whole segments, at least watch this

Just watched the whole episode, has a special quest from SNW. I'm sure you can guess who.

Jerry O'Connell wearing the tiny t-shirt is the most Ransom thing ever.

There was a show I think last year where they surprised us by releasing the first episode early because they showed it at a con. But I don’t remember what one lol

You're thinking of the SNW-Lower Decks crossover episode, which was released immediately after it was screened at SDCC.
Oh right, yeah.

I think it also showed up on Canadian cable boxes a few days before as something releasing that day.

I don't see anything on my cable box for the weekend, so probably not.

Looking forward to it. I'm bummed this is the final season. I'm kind of hoping this weekend at the convention there might be news of a Prodigy like save, but I doubt it.
My best hope is that it's a potential Futurama situation, where the show can get revived in the future. The advantage is that there's no blockers like having to rebuild demolished sets or anything.

It's pretty obvious that the writers and the cast would be up for it.

I would like that but if it does get revived, I don't want to see it go for 20 years. I've been watching TBS for Baseball and I'm surprised a show like American Dad is still on and producing new episodes. This is why I was shocked Lower Decks was cancelled though, because LD is the type of show that reminds me of an American Dad or Family Guy or Futurama. I assume it's cheap to produce and they are still doing it with those other shows. With all these streamers now, there isn't anyone else who would want a show like Lower Decks?

I agree, it seemed like a no-brainer to keep it going. Maybe the costs have increased or something.

Would be interesting to know how it does in terms of viewers compared with SNW. I know there are some fans who refuse to watch a "cartoon" or don't like the tone, and humour is naturally more subjective than drama. It's also *very* pitched at fans.

So it's probably more niche appeal than SNW, but I wonder by how much?
