That's my secret identity, though. Now I feel like Superman but everybody can see my real face! No glasses, man!

Sorry....here's your glasses back....Bob....:)

No one's going to remeber I said anything Bob...because Bob's your *actual* real name and everyone knows that..Bob.....<wink wink>......hehe :)

You know, Kevin Tighe and Swoosie Kurtz are the same age. Was "twice his age" an extreme generalization because if you put those two together now, there's no way he could play that much older than her.

Cool episode.

And for Pete's sake, it's Cerberus, not Cerebus. Man, that annoys the hell out of me.

Excellent episode, but I don't like all the "helping Locke follow his destiny" stuff. In a way, you could say they're still manipulating him.

Not sure what the question mark refers to, but Tighe and Kurtz played adult John's parents, and we had the young Emily in this episode who was running around with some guy "twice her age." Now maybe they didn't mean Cooper, but the mother's extreme disapproval of the unseen guy suggests otherwise.

Twice her age would mean he is about 16 years older. Kevin Tighe I think could definitely could play a man in his mid to late 70s. Thrown some old age makeup on his face and with his white hair he'll look as old as Arnold Palmer now days.

Average. More flashbacks, more padding, more mumbo jumbo.

If you need a new forum motto, then "Destiny is a fickle bitch" will do nicely.

Excellent, of course. My mouth fell open when we first saw Alpert, and it didn't close again until several minutes after the credits rolled.

Also Horace said he died 12 years ago. This confirms the Purge took place in 1992. This is curious since 1988 is the year that A) the radio tower started broadcasting the Numbers and b) Rosseau claims to have crashed onto an Island populated only by the Others!
I guess she crashed on a part of the Island controlled by the Others, or at least out of the control of Dharma. But then, Alex would have been 4 at the time of the Purge. Did Ben somehow start taking care of her before the Purge? Or maybe the Others took care of her while he was away with the DI, and then after the Purge, he convinced her he was really her daddy.

Dammit, I want to see those flashbacks!

Anyone notice Ben's severe facial bruising vanished by nightfall? It's the one show where you can't say it was a continuity goof (because it wasn't). :p

Quite good but not excellent. The Big Picture is developing nicely as more and more pieces are put in place.

But still it generated quite a few questions for me:

Why did the cabin appear to Hurley?

We see Richard. Didn't see that coming.

Learned Purge occurred 12 years earlier.

Captain turned out to be a good guy.

I had a feeling the gun wouldn't go off.

It seems Claire was spared in the rocket attack by the island. What is up with her. She seems "off".

Has Christian been healed or is just a reanimated corpse? And he changed clothes since I don't imagine he would have been buried in that outfit?

Martin didn't seem fazed by the smoke monster based on the way he told the doctor that a pillar of smoke came for them.

What is in the Dharma notebook in the safe that required two keys and both the captain and Martin to be present when opened.

What was the device hooked up to Martin that Omar was placing on him before closing the door?

Horace built the cabin for a getaway with his wife so why did Jacob commandeer it?

Why are the kids so special?

Is Aaron special?

What if the island moves just as the first group leaves the island and that first group being what would become the Oceanix Six?

Why does the cabin jump around?

Why the need to go to grave to find Horace's corpse to get the map to lead them to its location? Why didn't the cabin appear like it had before? Furthermore, why did Jacob or his cabin drag ou appearing to JOhn and telling him to move the island from the start? Why play hard to find? Is there a reason that is not clear?

Why need Hurley since the island spoke to John and gave him the direction to find it? He didn't seem to contribute in any way to locating the cabin.

What is the connection/relationship between Abaddon and Richard? Are they on the same side? Just yet two more people connected by the
island? Did Widmore hire him because of island connection? Did the Black Rock transport from a point to the middle of the island similiar to Ben and bear in Africa?

Why did the Others feel the need to wipe out Dharma?

Young John met Richard before young Ben did in the 70s.

Who is Richard?

How did he know John might be special? The island?

I'm wondering if Martin is heading to the Tempest to release the gas but Charlotte and Dan neutralized it not trying to stop Ben from releasing it but Martin?

What is the point of the "test" Richard has with those various objects-Book of Laws, baseball glove, knife, jar of sand?, compass? Which
item was he suppose to choose? Were these the sorts of tests Walt was subjected to? Is this sort of the same experiment Charlotte and Dan were doing with the cards?

What does"Which of these things belong to you already"?
Ben didn't create Mittelos? I guess Richard did. Was Richard the Others' leader? Was he even ever a child? How much does Richard know of the island?

How does Richard get from the island since before Dharma came with sub in the 70s? The island's magical transporter? Is that how the Black Rock ended up in the middle of the island?

What miracle did Abaddon have happen to him?

Why is John special?

What will John owe Abaddon the next time they run into one another?
How did Abaddon know that John needed to go on walkabout which would deny him then lead to his taking 815 tht would lead to island where he would be healed.

How did Abaddon come to work for Widmore?

And most importantly how do you move an island?

Loved this episode. I wish we actually got to meet Jacob though.

To follow up on somebody's theory. I also don't think Jacob and Abbaddon are the same people, however. and I apologize if what I am about to say is racially sensitive, but The Black Rock was a slave ship, right? What if Abbaddon was one of those slaves and somehow managed to get off the island, and is wanting to get back by any means. He discovers that a man named Charles Widmore knows about this island, Charles could be a descendent of Alvar Hanso, and Abbaddon aligns himself with Widmore to get back. Abbaddon must have an ulterior motive.

^ That's not racially insensitive at all, I think it's a pretty valid theory. I still think Richard was a crewman on the Black Rock, maybe he and Abbaddon are/used to be rivals contending for control of the island, much like Ben and Widmore.

Excellent!

The last sentence of the show is the oddestest phrase ever coined on TV!
"He wants us to move the Island"

Finally, I think we've finally learned why there are only six survivors: That's all who could fit on the motorboat.

Plausible. Except it would be extremely out of character for Jack to get on the boat while (30+?) people are standing on the beach. I think he'd be one of the last ones to leave.

Oh, and the selecting of objects by a child is what they do to pick the new Dali Lama I believe. They are objects that belonged to the previous now dead one, and the child is the reincarnation of his spirit and would recognize "his" objects.

I'm guessing that it's Jacob's objects (Jacob being on the Black Rock in the 1800s), and the chosen leader (Ben, Locke) is supposed to be the reincarnation of Jacob.

Interesting.

Great episode with lots of layering. I won't cover what everyone else has already mentioned, but I do have one question....

What did Hurley say just before John woke him up? He mumbled something, and no matter how many times I rewound my Tivo I just couldn't make it out? Was it nothing, or was it something of layered importance?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
