I'm thinking the Kahana is not the means that the Oceanic Six get off the Island. I'm thinking they teleport off in the Orchid. After all, Sayid just left the Kahana. Desmond is still on it. So now on the beach very shortly you're going to have 5 of the 6 (Jack, Kate, Sayid, Sun, the baby when Sawyer returns). They're probably gonna follow the phone signal inland to the Orchid.

Also I think Frank tossed down the tracer phone to warn them AWAY, not to follow, LOL.

One odd thing, they said the beach camp was NORTH. On all the maps the beach camp is on the bottom half which I assumed to be south. But this also tracks with earlier "contradictory" statements. I guess the Blast Door Map was upside down!

I really don't think that Claire is dead. She's just drugged up and taken away. I just can't believe that Claire was killed in the house, then Cerebus swooped in, replicated her body in time for Sawyer to rescue her, then imitated her for days afterward without Sawyer ever being suspicious.

She has a band aid on her head for pete's sakes! :p

Though to be fair it would explain Miles' fascination with her.

Some neat, mind-bending stuff tonight. Not quite as good as I thought it was going to be in some respects - I was hoping we'd get a flash-foward into Locke's future destiny on the island - but some pretty amazing stuff nevertheless.

Richard showing an interest in Locke at birth - and throughout his life - raises alot of possibilities. Abbadon seems to have gained a bit of depth with his discussion with Locke though I still think he's evil if for no other reason than his name.

The whole doctor scene was very nicely done. Claire's dead. Called it. :)

The island has officially chosen Locke over Ben and Ben's aware of it. Be interesting to see what happens next since Ben obviously remains in some sort of position of power given the flash-fowards we've seen.

All in all, good episode. 9/10

I'm going with Excellent but its not as great as some of the recent Excellents.

A lot happened but a lot of freaky stuff. Which is fine to a certain point. But with only 10 minutes to go and more commercials on the way they finally get to the cabin. Not much going to get revealed.

Yeah, Claire looked very much at peace. Also it seems she's gained some weight. And again they are teasing me with being this close -->| |<-- to letting the secret of Jack and Claire out.

I don't have any issue with Locke not recognizing Richard. It was 5 minutes 50 years ago.

Though I'd say it pushes plausibility that John doesn't remember the face & name of Alpert when he made this odd momentious visit to him promising to whisk him away from his adopted home.
I disagree. Based on what we know, the last time John actually saw Richard was when he was a young kid and is now several decades older. I don't know how old you are, but how many faces do you remember from your early childhood that you haven't seen since? Do you think you would recognize them if you saw them again? Same goes for the name. John may have long since forgotten it.

Also, Hurley ends up being worthless to the story. And Ben doesn't do anything either.
Have faith. I think John, Ben and Hurley may have just become The Island A-Team and that they're about to do some wicked cool stuff together.

I'm disappointed in Lapidus. I was hoping he'd agree to pilot the copter, then martyr himself and fly it straight into the ocean, drowning himself and Keamy and co. along with it.
Yeah, I had hoped he would do the same. Maybe he's too pissed at himself for allowing the doctor and the captain to be killed?

Claire seemed very out of it at the end. Too calm. She's gotta be dead now.
I disagree. I think Claire is still alive.

It would explain how she "survived" the explosion

Abaddon is Jacob? Interesting theory, but the Jacob we saw in 3X20 was a white guy. Abaddon putting Locke on the path to the Island is interesting, it suggests he isn't just a Widmore stoodge. But of course, if the Island IS Widmore's, perhaps that's not so contradictory.

I didn't understand what Abaddon said to Locke in the hospital at one point, when he first mentioned how he went on a walkabout? What exactly did he say?

Yeah, I caught that too and was puzzled. At first I thought it was just a script error, but I know they're more careful than that...

On a side note, I had been sort of secretly rooting for Keamy all season based on a vague personal connection to the actor from years ago, but this episode sealed it: I reallllllly hope he gets killed off by season's end. Horribly and brutally. Maybe twice.

Christian was first seen sitting in the chair in 4X1. In 3X20, Jacob's first appearance, it was a bearded white guy.

Oh, and the selecting of objects by a child is what they do to pick the new Dali Lama I believe. They are objects that belonged to the previous now dead one, and the child is the reincarnation of his spirit and would recognize "his" objects.

I'm guessing that it's Jacob's objects (Jacob being on the Black Rock in the 1800s), and the chosen leader (Ben, Locke) is supposed to be the reincarnation of Jacob.
Ooo...that's an interesting thought. Better than any ideas I had.

No, I think the Oceanic 6 leave on the motorboat in attempt to return to the Kahana but find it's gone for whatever reason and are found by someone else (Penelope, most likely).

Yeah, I thought that was odd, too. Perhaps, as Flukie suggested, the orientation changed (and has changed multiple times).

Naw, everyone has accepted they made it off the island in some sort of natural way based on what we saw in the flash fowards. If they just show up in the middle of the desert like Ben then there would be waaaaay too many questions.

They have to leave the island by a somewhat more mundane way like boat, plane, etc, etc.

Also I think Frank tossed down the tracer phone to warn them AWAY, not to follow, LOL.

Well, we know it was Frank and I totally agree with you. It was to help them avoid the mercs.

I didn't think that Richard was time travelling. I thought he looked the same as he does in the present because he doesn't age.

There is no reason to believe that he can't time travel and be an immortal as well. I just think he has access to some device that can bend space and time.

Ah, but Ben arrived by transporter and then just said he came by boat. They're already lying about everything else anyway ;)

Anybody else hoping the approach of the chopper meant the beach camp was about to be toasted by gunfire? That would have been sweet. Bad for Jack's stitches, though.
