I'm thinking the Kahana is not the means that the Oceanic Six get off the Island. I'm thinking they teleport off in the Orchid. After all, Sayid just left the Kahana. Desmond is still on it. So now on the beach very shortly you're going to have 5 of the 6 (Jack, Kate, Sayid, Sun, the baby when Sawyer returns). They're probably gonna follow the phone signal inland to the Orchid.
I don't think they'll teleport off. In "The Shape of Things..." I got the impression that Sayid didn't know Ben could teleport off the island. Plus I saw something in the CTV preview for next week that also suggests that they don't teleport off the island. I could be wrong of course. We'll see.

I'm fascinated that Horace built the Cabin. We all assumed it was from the 1800s! Though I'm pissed we didn't learn anything more on that subject. Was it a place to sneak away to snuggle with his little sweetie teacher?

Also Horace said he died 12 years ago. This confirms the Purge took place in 1992. This is curious since 1988 is the year that A) the radio tower started broadcasting the Numbers and b) Rosseau claims to have crashed onto an Island populated only by the Others!

Sigh, why did they have to kill Rosseau? :(

Ah you're right, they didn't teleport off because Sayid was shocked that Ben got off. Never mind.

What the fuck.

I mean, what the holy hell fuck is going on with this show?

I love it, but it's also really pissing me off. What happened to the time-distortion thing? What the hell.

WHAT

THE

HOLY

HELL!??!?!?!?

Woah, I totally didn't remember or recognise Horace until your post. I just went and read up again on him.

Something else of note: both Locke and Ben were premature babies, born to a woman named Emily.

I agree that vial of pebbles looked like the white ash that contained Jacob's Cabin. Or something like that.

I found it interesting that Ben said the Purge wasn't his idea but "the leaders". Which I take to mean Alpert and Jacob. This is funny because it seems to reinforce the "Ben never killed anyone and is a good person" angle (he didn't directly kill the Bedouins in the flashforward, Locke survived his gunshot)... and in the original draft of "Man Behind Curtain" his dad is killed by the island-wide gas network, not by Ben's own gas gernade. But they reshot it because they wanted Ben to be more proactive in the death of his father. Yet that seems to be the only black mark on his name. Of course, if Jacob ordered the hit, I guess Ben isn't responsible for it. Jacob seems to love "indirect" killings... like Locke manipulating Sawyer into killing Cooper.

Ah, but Ben arrived by transporter and then just said he came by boat. They're already lying about everything else anyway ;)

Point taken. However, the Oceanic Six were in the Public Eye and I think they would face alot more scrutiny then some master manipulator in Tunisinia that more or less moved behind the scenes.

Anybody else hoping the approach of the chopper meant the beach camp was about to be toasted by gunfire? That would have been sweet. Bad for Jack's stitches, though.

I thought for sure that's how it would end. I'm a bit suprised they flew over the camp and didn't even try and kill anyone given Keamy's disposition...... guess we're in for a heck of a ride next 3 hours. :)

This one I know.

Mira Furlan asked to be let off the show as she was tired of being on the island. I'm sure we'll probably see her in a flash-back at some point, but she wanted off the show.

I hadn't heard that, label. Where did you read that?

So it definitely wasn't drunk driving then? ;)

I really don't think that Claire is dead. She's just drugged up and taken away. I just can't believe that Claire was killed in the house, then Cerebus swooped in, replicated her body in time for Sawyer to rescue her, then imitated her for days afterward without Sawyer ever being suspicious.

She has a band aid on her head for pete's sakes! :p

Though to be fair it would explain Miles' fascination with her.

The dead people aren't always Cerebus, if at all. I'm leaning towards Claire actually not being dead on account of a couple things:
1. Although I don't think the dead are Cerebus, they have behaved in a certain manner so far (much more spectral) and her behaviour doesn't match that. If she is dead, then she's special in the way the other ones who have died aren't.
2. Hurley told Jack in the last episode that he shouldn't raise Aaron. This implies that there is still someone else who should raise him, and this person is Claire. She still has to be alive to raise him.

In fact, I think Claire is under the island's protection right now for the upcoming raid, so that she's available to raise Aaron when he comes back to the island. For whatever reason, the island is also protecting Aaron, but by getting him rescued. Perhaps this is so that she'll raise him on the island when he gets back, as opposed to the mainland, which is where she would if they both got off.
