Didn't you know, we now refer to actors by the roles they play instead of by their real names?I haven't been reading this whole thread, but the title confuses me every time I see it. Does it mean:
1. Fans will have to adjust to Lorca's character?
2. In the pilot, Captain Lorca says "Fans will have to adjust" while talking about the ventilation system on Discovery?
3. Jason Isaacs said "Fans will have to adjust to Discovery", and the OP thought his name was actually Lorca?
If it's option 3, can a mod please fix this!
Heads exploding in AxaLand in 3....2.....1....Lorca is Garth of Izar.
"Lucius Malfoy says he doesn't care about Star Trek fans" does make sense, considering the whole "Slytherin" thing.Didn't you know, we now refer to actors by the roles they play instead of by their real names?
In other news, Wolverine is going to be P.T. Barnum in an upcoming musical from 20th Century Fox.
Kor
His special talent was being able to take small amounts of money, amass it into a total of $1.4 Million Dollars, and make it disappear.I don't actually know anything much about Garth of Izar. He was a famous Starfleet captain who went nuts and Kirk had to fight him.
Also, shape-shifter.
Is there something special about him, or does maybe Starfleet have other captains who are good at commanding ships in combat?

Actually, we do in the U.S. Post 9:00 PM (local time) the FCC eases restrictions a bit for both Network and commercial cable channels (pay cable channels can show whatever they like whenever they like.)There's no rule per se that I know of here. How much violence is left in a movie may have more to do with the venue than the hour - there are probably still kinds of violence and sex that the broadcast networks would cut but that are not considered problematic on premium cable channels.
I've seen cable networks such as A&E or TNT that have syndicated drama shows on during the day beep out certain language that was fine when the show originally aired in the evening. What's a "daytime edit?"

They don't need anybody else. Garth is amazing and nobody is as good as Garth and just ask anything that served with him because they can't stop talking about how great he is. So you see, as long as Starfleet has Garth they don't need any other captain at all because he can do it all...
Battlestar Galactica was a reboot, this is not.Yes, people did whine when Battlestar Galactica changed, then they got over it because it had good writing. Star Trek will be no different -- if the writing is good. You don't get to pre-cast all critics of the new show as Sheldon Cooper.
Nope, it's been directly stated that it's not a reboot and that it's taking place in the canon television timeline.Of course it is.
Jason Isaacs is selling his own bags of coffee?Lorca is Garth of Izar.
