Little things in Trek that just bug you...

I hate the female characters wearing high heels, why don't the men wear them?
I hate the females wearing different (skin tight) uniforms than the men. ( I was in the USArmy, it's called a "uniform" for a reason)
Why are there no men wearing a chest exposing long dress on TNG?

^Fainting spells are caused by a decrease in blood flow to the brain, not a slight increase in heart rate. That’s why restrictive clothing causes episodes of the sort you’re describing.
Go put on a corset and try running.
Whike your blood is trying to fuel
Your arms and legs and lunds, odd stuff can happen.
I believe the actual actress was fainting from the costume in real life.

^Jeri Ryan’s episodes were caused by transient compression of her carotid arteries, which happened whenever she turned her head too suddenly. The bulk of her spells happened while she was wearing the silver catsuit seen at the beginning of season 4. The beige and blue catsuits she wore later were less restrictive; thus, she had fewer episodes.

The Movie uniforms with the grey shoulders were modified for marina sirtis at her request...rather demand to better show off hee figure

hear say. shatner's tos boots not only had heels. but also internal lifts.
That's sort of like actors wearing contact lenses. I can't recall Kirk wearing 4 inch high heeled boots on the show.
I also don't recall him wearing a miniskirt as his uniform.

In TOS wasn't the style of the time to wear miniskirts? That's why they wore them on screen.

And in all fairness in TNG there are dudes in skirts too

Lol.
For like 2 episodes, in the background as extras.
Why wasn't Geordie wearing a cheerleader outfit like Troi?
Why, mysteriously did we only see Troi and Yar ( I believe) as main characters in the cheerleader outfits?
Not Geordi, Data, Worf, Picard or Riker.
Mmmmmm, very mysterious........
In TOS, only the cute women wore the stupid miniskirts, not Kirk, McCoy, Scotty, Chekov, or Spock or Sulu. Mmmmm, yet another mystery........
I'll bet Kirk, McCoy, Scotty,Spock, Sulu, or Chekov never wore high heels either.

It's just stupid that women want to pretend that "they've come so far" yet they still are eye candy in tv and movies.
Sure there are a few old, not very good looking maybe even fat actresses out there but they are way way way fewer than the men that fit those discriptors in the industry.
Lol!

Grace Lee Whitney, who played Yeoman Rand, did not like having to wear trousers like the males. Thus, the miniskirt uniform was born.

We today forget that for a couple short years there, the miniskirt was seen as an expression of feminism, women's liberation, more open sexuality, etc. For centuries, the patriarchy had been telling women that they had to cover themselves up in order to be considered "proper," and here was a way to challenge those old mores.

Not sure on the information, but if it's true, that is even more pathetic, asking to be treated as an object. Simply sad and pathetic really.
Not at all. Some women likes the way they looked and wanted to show it . They also wanted to be current with the fasion trends of the time.

Ridiculous.
Being current with the fashion trends of the times should not be part of the consideration when acting in a movie or TV show. The role one is playing dictates the attaire not the mood of the actress. Ditto for whether or not they think they are attractive.
Is it possible that there were male actors that thought they looked pretty good too?
Did someone design a short sleeve uniform specifically for that actor to be able to show off his muscular arms?
No.
Because men on TV/ movies receive about 1/100th as much objectification as women.
Pretty much, Being an Object is the only reason for women in most movies/tv shows.
