I remember watching this weird series when I was a kid, but to make it a feature film now? Hollywood needs an infusion of originality - stat.

When I was a kid I liked Sigmund and the Sea Monsters for a while; they added Rip Torn to the cast as a genie AND THEN added some kid playing the genies nephew.

Isn't it almost always a case of desperation when a show adds a kid to the cast? And don't they usually get canceled soon afterwards?

2 - The Brady Bunch (Cousin Oliver)
3 - The Nanny (their baby)
4 - Murphy Brown (Avery)
etc, etc, etc

It was Seven on Married With Children I think, Six on Blossom, BSG and Trippin the Rift, Seven on Voyager and MWC. The only good part was how they got rid of him like he never existed.

Now Rip TORN would have made for a cool-ass show. Sadly, it wasn't him.

I watched maybe 2 episodes...even as a kid it felt aimed at an audience far younger than myself.

I seem to recall a news report of an on-set fire on the program that actually endangered Rip Taylor and one of the performers in a Sid & Marty Krofft sea monster costume.
