Last movie you saw?

Sur le seuil (Evil Words)
the second (or third) French Canadian horror film I've seen. This one was enjoyable, with very good performances by the leads, despite being quite derivative.

Princess Mononoke. The fourth Hayao Miyazaki movie I’ve seen so far at my local cinema. They’re showing ten of his movies this winter. :)
This one is my favourite so far although they’ve all been good. I had previously only seen My Neighbor Totoro and spirited away.

Funeral Home (1890)
Kay Hawtrey was great in this ...especially when she
trashed the entire basement of her house

Sometimes I try to "Eat my vegetables" when it comes to movies. Movies that are objectively great, but boring. This is one of the biggest vegetables. Three and a half hours of a woman performing mundane household tasks. So feminist, but so hard to watch for three and a half hours.

"Hardware." Pretty graphic and depressing look at the future were humans fight a killer robot. I don't think I got the European cut though on Hulu so it could have even been more gritty. As always it's disturbing when you watch a movie with Harvey Weinstein in the credits as a producer. There is one slimey guy in the movie who I can actually see being modeled off of him.

Home Alone 2. They really did just remake the first one, but with 100% more Tim Curry.

What do you think about the Trump cameo?

Me I saw two movies today. That movie "Wonder Women and Proffesor Marsden" I think it is called. It was okay but I feel like "Kinsey" a few years ago covered similar turf and was much better. Then I saw "Cult of Chucky" and loved it. These Chucky sequels are actually better than the first couple of movies. Also the main actress is played by the daughter of Brad Douriff and I think she is going to have a very good career. I have been impressed with her in this and the movie before it.

To be quite honest, I think I missed it. Maybe I was distracted at that point, but from some point on, I was looking out for it and it never came, so it must have been before I started looking out for it. That, or Netflix cut it out, but I doubt that (but it's always fun to start a rumor).

The Holiday Calendar on Netflix. Same producer made last year's Christmas Inheritance and A Christmas Prince, the first one being filmed locally, and there's a scene in this new movie where the main character is browsing Netflix and briefly but not so subtly those first two come up in the UI as she's browsing.

Mowgli. This was the Jungle Book adaptation I was waiting for, and I wasn't disappointed. Looking at reviews around the web, though, I guess too many people have the Disney version locked in their head as what it's supposed to be. I especially liked Andy Serkis as tough love teacher Baloo, way more faithful to the original stories.

I watched "A Nightmare Before Christmas" for the very first time. Not sure why it took me 18 years to get around to it but it did. I liked it for the most part. It deserves tons of credit for being creative but I had problems caring about the characters on a emotional level.

I have a love hate relationship to that movie. I love watching it and I love the music. But it is also a bit too dark and gloomy for my taste. And I mostly care about Sally on an emotional level when I watch it.

Usually I watch end-of-the-world type movies when I'm feeling depressed. It sometimes helps me feel a little better by showing me how things could be worse. I watched a double feature of Threads and
the newer version of On the Beach. Didn't help much.
