I saw this film today. I only saw it once in 2020, but it is one of my favorite Alien Movies since it has a relatively eerie feeling to it and I love the overall time period the film is set in. It isn't so much about Aliens themselves, but the atmosphere, and the way the main character Fay is - that really interests me.

Supergirl. Went out to see it with some friends last Tuesday and we both ended up feeling satisfied with it, and we didn't agree with the critics. It was a fun movie for what it was.

I think it was brilliant that the main character was an architect....before the backrooms trope--there was what became the Missing: 411 deal.
Here in the South, there is a tale about an individual who vanished--but whose cries for help were audible...but receding.
I have this theory that the character's profession/passion was such that he created the backrooms via retrocausality...giving shape to the shapeless.
There is one scene where he disables another person via a sleeper hold. At first I thought this was done to limit the number of conscious individuals...maybe if little Danny was given Benadryl, the Overlook isn't as hungry...that type of thing. But the therapist specializes in bringing the hidden out--and she had her own trauma that still fed the place.
The discussion at the table was a rare moment of brutal honesty...shades of encounter groups of decades ago. The therapist wasn't just a waspish Karen with no emotion...though things were flipped at the last when she was being grilled.
This movie demands a sequel...and will likely get one.
Where folks are supe-d out....horror is an evergreen.

Watched Oppenheimer last night. Was thinking of watching Interstellar - but couldn't find my blu-ray for it. I'll decide what Nolan movie I'll watch later tonight.
