It's one of my top 10 movies. I had a few niggles with it but overall I love it
I didn't like the ending of it all that much, it felt too open ended for me. The whole overall plot I liked though. What were your issues with it?
I thought the ending left room for one more movie to see how they go starting a colony. My niggle was the small ships they used to land. Weren't they still waiting for Murph to solve the problem of anti gravity? The ships bugged me in that they could surface land and take off with relative ease and the way they soft land to me made me think they had already solved the problem of gravity. Or was that more to do with the big cylinder station that they wanted to launch? That really was my only niggle.
I think what they meant by the problem of gravity was the time difference between Gargantua and Earth. Unless if I am mistaken.
OK that could have been it. I thought it had to to with the mass of the station they wanted to lift off the ground

I saw Gibson & Coe's Footprints on the Moon on Apollo Day.
And I saw Bugsy Malone last night. Before I found out that Scott Baio had grown up to become a MAGA nutjob. I remembered it from the 1970s: a gangster spoof musical comedy with an entire cast of kids (with gunfights replaced with pie-fights), but I never actually saw it. Amusing, in an absurdist/surreal way.

Busy Malone was one of my favourite movies as a kid. Probably not seen it since I was about 12.
