Interesting. If you said around 25-30 years ago summer blockbusters were better I would agree with you. But I think in the last few years they are much better than about 10 years.

I think there's already enough Williams Star Wars (and other scores) out there to form the basis of future soundtracks. There's a lot of music on Star Wars videogames that has the Williams feel and quote his themes. We don't have to worry about when Williams retires - a decent composer will still be able to follow in his footsteps well enough, he's done enough groundwork.I do agree that do to Williams age there should also be another composer involved just in case and also such a person could to the spin off movies.
