Why?The fact that they are including the destruction of Romulus has already put me off this series. It looks like it will be 17 years and counting for another Star Trek series.
It happened in a movie he doesn't like. Why?
First day on the internet?Ah. I wasn't expecting rationality.
Because irrationality is funWhy?
Because I don't consider any part of the JJ films to be canon. Why?
It’s the characters that people care about. You can’t just throw the name Star Trek on a program and assume people are going to care.
Because I don't consider any part of the JJ films to be canon.
And reasons 'n stuff.
Kurtzman is developing this Picard series, how can you not expect something similar to Disco??? It's not as if Ronald D. Moore is writing and producing it or better yet Executive Producing it??? This is a CBSALLACCESS production under the watchful eye of Alex Kurtzman. I'm beginning to believe this Picard series is going to somehow merge the Trek universes into one, to end the bullshit prime nonsense. Its kinda like Star Trek at it's end becomes something new... and on with 3 more spinoffs shows because CBSALLACCESS can't survive without the Star Trek brand.I watched RLM short treks review and i have to agree with a lot of their thoughts on the current condition of Trek
While i understand there is a large market for Discovery and even the JJ verse movies, and I am glad so many people find enjoyment from them, both just dont give what I want from Trek. point being what I DON'T want from trek is action, action, action.
Now that's not to say I don't like action as i certainly do, but Trek was always more of a cerebral IP to me.
With this Picard show I am curious to see what they bring, but if it does end up being similar to DSC, then I will hve to join RLM in parting ways with TREK in it's modern iteration, because it's just not for me anymore.
Even though Kutzman himself stated that the Picard series will be different?Kurtzman is developing this Picard series, how can you not expect something similar to Disco??? It's not as if Ronald D. Please define authentic Trek for me. Because that went by the wayside (for me) in TNG.It takes more than a franchise label to make a new show/film authentically Trek.
