I'm sure this has been brought up numerous times before. Most of the other Trek sites toss away the fact that Janeway was made an admiral with the joke that Star Fleet dare not let her command another vessel.
*spoiler* But the fact that she WAS promoted is a bit disconcerting. The fact is that Janeway participated in probably the biggest time-line altering events in all of Trek history. At least in the Voyager's own finale, the future Janeway dies. However, to promote Captain Janeway is simply absurd.
Understandably, she would've been given a lot of credit for keeping the ship in one piece for all those years, but crapping all over the temporal prime directive would much if not all of her accomplishments. Also, her accomplishments doesn't really compare to the other captains. Kirk, Picard, and Sisko have all saved the Federation (and the existence as we know it) more than a couple of times. Yes, they didn't want to be promoted, but that doesn't change the fact that I don't understand how anyone could justify Admiral Janeway.
So Voyager/Janeway fans, please help me out. Why is Janeway worthy of that promotion?
