There have been a couple of threads started and eventually locked down on this subject but here goes.
For those who didn't like the movie (I haven't seen it yet), how do you think it should have/could have been done? I'm not being sarcastic or critical. I am curious. Should Trek be treated like Star Wars for instance? The saga is over and the fans should live with what they were fortunate enough to get?
I believe "our" Trek ended with the passing of DeForest Kelley. Once the original cast started passing away, it was the beginning of the end. I am however very open to a new "look" for Trek. Is this one any good? Maybe. Maybe not. There were good and bad movies with the original cast. Can stuff be remade and/or reinvented? I think so. There have been so many movies and TV series "remade" you'd think Hollywood had no creativity left. Some were good. Some were better than the original. And some were god awful.
So. How do you think this reimagining should have been handled? If at all?
Please feel free to move this (like you need my permission
