IDW Star Trek Ongoing...

Fun issue. Reasonable pacing. Longer stories are soooo much better.

Did women play a significant role? The previews only feature men (except for Uhura giving reports in dire scenes).
Hope it's not too much of a spoiler (#*$^%#$ spoiler tags!), but Keiko is shown at least temporarily in the command chair of the NuDefiant. Nothing else so far though, although I can't imagine we won't see Kira.

Women generally don't do much in NuTrek and this issue is a bit lighter on chicks than normal but Keiko's appearance was cool considering she was very under-used in the show and it's a certainty that Kira is going to show up. Ro would be as nice touch too but I won't hold my breath!

I just finished reading Star Trek #36. I'm really enjoying this arc. I've said this before but I dig in the art for the space scenes...it reminds me of the old DC Comics.

You have got to be joking. Possible future Klingons in the Abramsverse use damned ugly Narada-based designs?????
IDW is notorious for reusing designs even if they don't fit. But, seeing as how this is supposed to be the future of the Narada timeline, it makes sense that Klingon ships look similar to that of the ships in the Khitomer Incident.

Honestly, I find it funny that people complain that the Klingons having the Narada for 25 years and not learning anything from it. But then its revealed they did in fact learn stuff from it and incorporated it into their ships designs aka common sense people complain about that.

How are Borg-Romulan ship spines supposed to be a tactical advantage?

Besides, Klingons do tend to hold onto a ship design for decades or even centuries...

Well thats becuase unlike the Federation they build their ships to last.

Seriously a Vintage D7 was able go tow to tow with Voyager.

Should i bother with Trek 33, 34 or it's not that good and jump ahead to the Q arc?

Is the Q arc just 2 issues?

Can anyone think of a reason as to why IDW randomly made the ongoing comics currently set in 2261? Cause according to Memory Beta, this is the captain's log for "The Q Gambit, Part 1":
Captain's log, stardate 2261.34. The Enterprise has arrived at the previously unexplored star system designated Menzies 216, at the edge of the Alpha Quadrant. It's been several months since we left Earth on our five-year mission. To borrow a phrase from Chief Engineer Scott, the ship and her crew are all firing on all cylinders. All ship systems are operating at peak efficiency. Morale on the ship is good. The better I come to know the crew, the more confident I am they're the best in the fleet.
It makes no sense to me. Star Trek Into Darkness clearly ended either at the end of 2259 or the beginning of 2260 as the five-year mission began. What's up with IDW's dating?
