STAR TREK: LEGACY IS COMING! (in comics)

So Core Trek is Seven and the Enterprise, Zero Point runs alongside it with Raffi as Captain of another ship?

Oh hell no. I do not need more of Lily Sato whining that everyone else wrong, and her decisions can't have consequences.

Also, the way the authors butchered the books' Andorian biology is still cringeworthy.

I think the positive is that the last time we saw Lily it was 2379, and we're now a few years after 2401 (Jack as XO and Crash as Chief Engineer?) so hopefully Lily has had some better character development in the intervening time,m

Those sound interesting, and I'm glad to see that they're actually not written by Kelly & Lanzing. But I am disappointed this probably means we won't be getting a novel series by someone like David Mack, Dayton Ward, or James Swallow, which would have been my preference.

Well, this is exciting news!

I think I've said before that I'd actually be interested in a "Seven as captain of the E-G" series, I just wasn't thrilled about the concept of Legacy being based around constant callbacks to older Trek. So this sounds like it could be really interesting. And Raffi is one of my favourite non-Legacy Picard characters, so I'm a little disappointed that we'll apparently miss out on that Seven/Raffi dynamic, but it's great that she's headlining her own comic! I think I'm looking forward to these way more than I was The Last Starship when it was announced.

Although... by this point, it should be illegal to name anything just "Star Trek" without any subtitles! Don't they get how difficult this makes searches online?!

With Star Trek / Zero Point being related stories releasing at the same time, it does sound like they want to recapture that Star Trek / Defiant dynamic, so I imagine we will get the occasional crossovers too. (And who knows, maybe even Shaxs' Averagest Day! ;) )

Also really looking forward to see what Charlie Jane Anders does with a Star Trek title.

My only "concern" (if you even want to call it that) is that I'm not really a fan of that highly-stylized art style on the sample cover. But of course it's presumably too early to say if that will be representative of the interior art at all.

@Enterprise1701 , where did you see that Lily was going to be part of this title? I read the whole article and didn't see that mentioned anywhere. I'm not doubting you, and I do see the Andorian on the sample cover, who could possibly be Lily, but I just don't know where this came from. Was there a character list published anywhere? I'm guessing there must be, since @tenmei also mentioned a character named "Crash", and I have no idea who that is. Does anyone have a link to share?

Between the Seven title, the Raffi title, the Pride issue, and the Anniversary Special, it's really great that IDW is giving us so much new content to celebrate the 60th anniversary year! * Glares expectantly in Simon & Schuster's direction *

As you say, Lily appears to be top-left on the "front cover", with Sidney "Crash" LaForge on the immediate left of Seven. Admittedly you're right and it could just be a coimcidence.

I wonder what this means for The Last Starship? Will there be 3 ongoing simultaneously?

I'll wait to see what happens before picking up, the specials sound good though!

I hope so! I hope it wont mean LS is stopping.

This looks like it'll be fun. Seven is one of my favorite trek characters so it will be fun to see her have a series of her own. I'm also a little disappointed they seemed to have split her and Raffi up tho

I used to read comics religiously for 30 years, but stopped awhile back when all the comics shops around me either closed or moved far away (I said screw it). Star Trek was one of the first comics I ever had and it's still a big chunk of my old collection. This new Seven series will probably get me back into comics again.
