How old were you when you first got drunk?

21, but only a couple of times since then. I have tried to get drunk since but I just go straight from slightly tipsy to really tired and sleeping on the couch. Not passing out, just sleepy. I don't drink much anymore for that reason and because it messes with my digestion for a couple of days and it just doesn't feel right to my stomach. I've never gotten headaches though. In fact, the morning after being drunk I would often wake up early feeling super refreshed and energetic.

I also have never blacked out or had any memory loss really. I love it because I remember all the crazy things my friends do while knowing that I am still in possession of my faculties and would never do those things. I don't tell them that of course, because then they would get self-conscious and afraid to get drunk around me.

14, I was, It was the '70's and it was like those scenes in 'That '70's show' at Friday night Parties.

I've never been drunk before, but I've been severely buzzed and what my friends are saying was likely one drink away from drunk this past weekend, about 2 weeks after my 21st. Even then, I only got that far because the people I was with are shit-heads who weren't entirely straight about what I was getting. I don't plan on getting drunk or even getting that far buzzed again. I was still in full control, I can remember everything, and I felt good the next day, but I just felt weird at the time and it made me very uncomfortable. I'm not sure how to describe the feeling, it was just.... weird. I'm sure I'll drink again in the future, especially if I can find something that actually tastes good, but I'm always going to be done very quickly. That general feeling of weirdness and unease didn't sit well with me.

I am quite surprised by the number of people here who've never been drunk.

Some people aren't even curious to try it once. I didn't try alcohol until I was 23, and even then it was due more to external factors than my own curiosity.

I'm just surprised because of how many people I know in real life that drink. Like, all of them. The only people I know that don't drink are pregnant ladies.

Until recently, you lived in a college town and were a bartender, right? Wouldn't that affect your experiences?

I have plenty of friends that don't drink regularly, and some that don't drink at all. For several of them, the first time they got drunk was my bachelorette party, when we were all around 25.

I'm almost 27 and I've never been drunk. Heck, I almost never even drink. I bet many of you are able to drink more alcohol in one day than I have drank in my entire life.

I still don't get it. Is that the 'buzz' people say they enjoy? I could spin around in a chair for FAR cheaper and get the same effect.

To quote Mayor Quimby in reference to alcohol...
It tastes great, makes women appear more attractive, and makes a person virtually invulnerable to criticism.

It also helps white people dance, and apparently makes me a better kisser. Not that the last part is of much interest to you, but it is to me. :)

I've never actually gotten truly drunk, closest way veeeery tipsy at 17 or so. And the reason why is because I don't handle alcohol well physically :/

I was 15 and it was a couple weeks before my 16th birthday, i went to the local rock music night with my dad, brother and a couple of our friends.

Was also sick that night had too many lagers.

I've never even drank enough to be buzzed. I guess I'm kinda lame.

I didn't plan on getting drunk, I have like one Mike's Hard Lemonade at picnics and such. It was me being stupid, so it's actually really lame to get drunk. However it worked out great in the end.

Plus this is a Star Trek forum, we are all lame.

Um....14 if I remember rightly. Cheap cider, not good. Threw up everywhere, not a good look. These days I socially drink, I'm too old for hangovers now.

Ah, one of the unwritten rules of being a teenager - you MUST drink cider at some point. And you will regret it. It is the way of things.

*nods sagely*

:D
