How do you feel about Season Seven?

This is by far the season Im most ambivalent about, though it contains some of the VOY eps I love most--IMPERFECTION, LINEAGE, ENDGAME... I feel that I admire the season intellectually more than I feel for it emotionally. But what do you guys think?

I feel the same way aboit Voy. 7th season as I do about TNG's. There were so good eps. tossed in amoung some really bad ones.

I enjoyed it up to "Flesh & Blood", after that it kinda faded with some stories I just found kinda odd and more like 1st season stories.

For the most part, i enjoyed it. Much better than season 6. The biggest dissapointment, other than "Endgame" would have to be "Repression". For the first 40 minutes i was really enjoying it, then it ended suddenly and i felt betrayed. Total 2 parter oppurtunity there...

The triumphant achievement of a consistent mediocrity. Except for Nightingale, there are no episodes that are completely incompetent. But there are also only two genuinely outstanding episodes, Imperfection and Endgame (and the last had heavy input from Berman and Braga.) Workforce and Author, Author were particularly watchable, but the latter had strong input from Braga.

It's okay. It reflects the fairly consistent quality the show had attained in season four, and has the same strengths and weaknesses of that season, season five and season six.

However, unlike those seasons, it had Talaxians. And Talaxians are cool. ;)

I did enjoy Season 7 of Voy. But I thought that the finale ended too quickly and left a lot of unanswered questions that I had running through my mind at the time. But it was better than Season 6!!(even though I enjoyed it too) S 7 didn't have as many stinker eps as S6 did.

Did anybody like "Critical Care"?

The ep. where the Doc is kidnapped and is made to work for an HMO type health care facility?

It's kinda one of my Voyager guilty pleasure favorites. :D

I liked "Critical Care".

1. It has ethics.

2. It has the Doctor.

3. It has a fat guy admitting he doesn't know where is wife is anymore and breaking down.

4. This fat guy is wearing prosthetics and make-up to imply, despite his urbane humanity, he is from another corner of the galaxy.

5. I really had a hard time telling the patient-to-die and the doctor-from-below apart. (Wait, that's not a plus.)

Me too!

I had to watch it like 3x before I could tell them apart.(but not in a row.)

BTW, the fat guy always reminds me of comic book version Dr. Ock.

Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed Critical Care. That was one of the best eps in Season 7. ;)

Season 7 is like the series as a whole - nowhere near as bad as often claimed, but could have been better. The only ep I outright loathe is "Q2" (though there are a few others that don't do much for me), and there are a number of episodes I enjoy a great deal. I'm also one of the 10 or so people on this board who actually like "Endgame". :p

It's not my favourite season of Voyager, but it's not a complete loss either.

I actually think Season 6 "feels" much more VOY to me. Eeven with Biller's obvious strengths--character development, continuity--somehow he lacks Braga's pizzazz. If only they had worked *together.*

Most of it was pretty awful, I couldn't even finish "Drive" I kept on having flashbacks to The phantom menace.

Perhaps season seven isn't awful, but I'll be damned if I remember any episodes from it besides Workforce (which was fun, if flawed two-parter), Flesh and Blood (which was too late in the series, and obviously, I'm a big fan of the Hirogen), and Endgame (which isn't nearly as bad as people claim, though the C/7 bits are incredibly awkward to watch).

But I can't even re-watch Voyager all the way through past "Bliss." Really, seasons five, six, and seven could be combined into a "Best of Voyager" boxset and I'd be happy not owning the rest.

I agree with many of the posters here. Season Seven wasn't Voyager's best season, but far from the worst. I just don't think it lived up to the promise of "The Caretaker," and the entire Seven/Chakotay pairing pretty much ruined Endgame for me.

Peace.

I don't have many problems with Voyager at all. It's not Shakespeare and its not meant to be. It (as well as the series) had high points, low points, and in between points.

I really enjoyed Season 7. I even liked Endgame.

It had a number of dull episodes (and even those were well done just lacking in oomph) and too few genuinely exciting ones. I think it lacked some high concept episodes that a few previous seasons had.
