How did you decide on your avatar names...

Waaaaaaaaaay-way-way-way-back in the 1980's I came up with the name of a Navigational Computer called the "Starlock" for a fictional starship I was using in a RPG. When I joined TrekBBS in 2000, this was the first name I thought of using, since I liked how it sounded.

Little did I know that "Starlock" was also the name of a French comic book character from the 70's as well as a type of fastener

It recently became the name of a MMRPG.

Damn, I'm good.

Worked for Paramount for many years, and liked the history of the stars around the mountain. One star for each of the Famous Players in the original Paramount galaxy.

I know you've mentioned before that you worked for Paramount and I remember reading years ago about Lasky's Famous Players, but I never made the association between those in regard to your username. I had an idea it might be a reference to a flag or other emblem, but that's all.

My board name is a tribute to Mordock, the alien Starfleet Academy aspirant from the TNG episode "Coming of Age", a sort of blue catfish creature who had to breathe with the aid of a chest-mounted vaporizer.

I wanted a Trek-flavored handle that wouldn't be obvious, and the ten-year-old me thought he was incredibly cool. I was crushed that he wasn't brought back, because I was convinced that he could have been the Admiral Ackbar of Trek (as odd as all this seems, I would say in my defense that his creation helped result in an Emmy nomination for Michael Westmore's crew and that Playmates memorialized him in action-figure form, so I wasn't his only fan).

I go by the name of my cartoon character, Bad Atom. (He's the guy in my avatar.) I use the same name on every site I go to - makes it simple!

Pahwraith is actually a non-hyphened version of "Pah-wraith", from Deep Space Nine. As stated at Memory Alpha, "The Pah-wraiths are non-corporeal beings, enemies of the Bajoran Prophets. Bajoran religious texts relate that the Pah-wraiths once resided in the Celestial Temple alongside the Prophets. However, for reasons unknown, they were banished to the Fire Caves on Bajor. According to ancient Bajoran texts, they were "false Prophets".

They're also called the Kosst Amojan. I guess I'm more bad than good, hence Pahwraith rather than Prophet.

There's a Trek site, www.starfleetsupply.com, which has in the "Humour" section, a set of pages featuring what would happen if the Borg had assimilated various famous personalities.

Ex: "I am Yoda Of Borg. Irrelevent the Force is."

Dang funny! Anyway...one was "I am Rush Limborg. Liberals are irrelevent."

I loved it! So I "borrowed" it.

Funny story: I recently wrote a skit called, "What If Rush Was...A TREKKIE???" It has Rush being hounded with callers who happen to be hard-core Trek fans, including a Klingon...who speaks Klingon!

It's all fun and games for the EIB Network...until Rush gets a call from THE BORG! He ends up assimilated, walking through the audience and going, "I am Rush Limborg. Resistance is futile."

I played Rush. The audience loved it, and the rest...is history....

I was a fan of Kira Nerys. Nerys is a near homophone of my last name and my first name is Mike. Only draw back is sometimes people unfamiliar with Bajoran names think I'm female.

I have to admit, that one kind of confused me because the way I saw it, I was looking at two different names that both could be the first name. Whereas in mine I went with Cardassian name order, I really wasn't sure until now what you were doing with yours!

As you can tell, my log in name in 2 of 10, I decided on this name from an episode of Voyager "Omega Directive" when Seven demotes Harry Kim from 6 of 10 to 2 of 10. That scene totally worked for me, so I decided to take Harry's demotion new designation...

Well, I like Jean-Luc a lot... and I needed a short and nice username back then when I got into the Trek fandom. Then I met someone who had chosen the username "Mrs.Kirk"... and I thought I'd modify that one slightly... and well... the rest, as they say, is history.

"Temis" was the name of a Vorta character I made up for a fanfic once. It was inspired by Eris, the Greek goddess of discord. I kinda botched it because the goddess I was thinking of was really Themis, goddess of divine justice, but eh whatever, I'm used to it now.

Plus there was another Themis on a BBS I used to visit - Andromeda - was that part of this place? It's been so long I forgot. Anyway, it's useful to have a made-up name so you can avoid duplicates.

My favorite username here was Ernest Borg of Nine, but I guess he's gone?
