Hockey Talk - 2007-2008 Season

^ Agreed.

This is one of those instances in which the country you live in shouldn't make a difference. If Americans want to watch the game, the NHL should make that easy for them.

Yeah no kidding. Id living in Edmonton and being a Kings fan would be so much harder if i couldnt at least listen to the games, which Im doing now :D

Wow! The Leafs actually won! I'm really liking Toskala, too, in both his starts he's given the team more than a fighting chance a number of times.

Special teams are interesting, though, I have to say. The power play sucks right now, being only 1/18 and having given up a goal with the advantage. On the other hand, though, the penalty kill has been surprisingly good. They're clearing the zone well, reducing the angles and Toskala is coming up when all else fails. I think they're something like 19/20 when it comes to the penalty killing. Weird contrast. Hopefully the PP can get things in gear soon.

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised last night. That power play still worries me though. Do we need to finish dead last in the league on the PP again before Ferguson will go buy me some real hockey players? ;)

Well I'm a Canadian living in Romania and I can't get the streams here either. Luckily I have a Slingbox setup at my buddies house. Still, with the time difference the first Sens game I'm likely to watch is on November 10th.

Due to school commitments, I haven't seen a Leaf game yet this year. It's good to hear some good things!

People from other continents, too, of course. My point is that in this day and age, websites really shouldn't block things from a geographic range of IPs.

I mentioned Americans in particular because there are NHL teams there.

Yep, Kings lost. Who woulda thunk it? We have talent I just dont know what happens to it. Well, aside from once we get really good players we trade em off. Especially goalies. Blargh.

Yeah, it's pretty slick.

I had to miss thursday's Flames game, and couldn't get the game to stream on my work computer for some reason, and I was there with only one other person who still uses an abacus -- so they were no help in figuring it out. But I will get that all sorted out if I'm ever at work during a game again.

Yeah, the PP bites. I think it'll improve whenever Wellwood gets back, as he's usually awesome as a set-up man with the advantage, but still... it's not hard to improve on absolutely terrible.

a little something I got from one of the guys on my beer league team that was funny

Her Diary:

Tonight I thought he was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at
a bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I
thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no
comment.

Conversation wasn't flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere
quiet so we could talk. He agreed but he kept quiet and absent. I asked
him what was wrong; he said nothing. I asked him if it was my fault that he
was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry.

On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled and
kept driving. I can't explain his behavior. I don't know why he didn't say
I love you too. When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he
wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there and watched T.V. He
seemed distant and absent.

Finally, I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he came to
bed, and to my surprise he responded to my caress and we made love, but I
still felt that he was distracted and his thoughts were somewhere else.

He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure
that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.
.
.
His Diary:

Missed two easy goals at hockey yesterday, but at least I got laid.

I am indeed! Except for the fact that it's almost midnight and I have to work tomorrow. Also NJ just scored. crap.

Well, the Sharks sucked last night. Ah well, it is just one loss. Looking forward to Saturday with the Home Opener.

For the folks wanting to watch the CBC stream, just use a Canadian proxy server.

My Habs are playing the Penguins tonight. Two inconsistant teams. Will they both suck? Will they both be awesome? Who knows?
