Highlander Reboot/Prequel Anticipation Thread

I'm a little disappointed that Russel Crowe is Ramirez, I would have much rather seen them go with someone that actually looks Egyptian. Unless they're going to change his backstory so he's not Egyptian any more.

Here's a thought: is it possible that instead of Ramirez, he's playing Connor in the mentor role, and Cavill is actually Duncan? Unlikely to be sure, but possible.

Honestly, I can't either, but it was just a weird thought that I had. At most, they might name-drop Duncan, but no more.

Or, he may not even exist in this particular universe at all.

Should the Hollywood Reporter be considered official confirmation that the cast are all playing characters from the original movie? He's an alien.

I'm so glad they finally got Drew McIntyre onto the cast, as a Pro Wrestling fan, both him & Dave Bautista are going to be in Highlander, so this should be great.

And finally, a real Scotsman in the movie.

Last article I read, they said there would be elements of the show added to the reboot. So maybe Duncan and watchers?

Aye, I think the issue here is the difference between clansman and brother.

It's real cold in the highlands.

They all slept in one heap together, so that no one could keep track of who's baby belonged to whom, after the fact.

Even though I want a Highlander remake, I think they're going to be in for a rude awakening with how much they're spending on this. Similar to the cost of a Blade Runner sequel.

I fear the same. I'd be glad to be wrong though.

I'd have to imagine that's why Lionsgate ended up dropping it. They figured this had a moderate box office ceiling.
