Oh yeah, this has been known for a while. He openly talks a lot about both that and his love for PC gaming.

He's currently attached to a potential Warhammer 40K TV series being developed by Amazon Prime.

Not just attached, he's an Executive Producer but i'd bet he'll reserve a juicy role for himself too because he's too much a fan of that universe to just stay in the background.

There was apparently some heat between Amazon and him earlier this year over creative differences ( might be just a rumor) that threatened the project to be cancelled but it's apparently still moving forward. No one knows when the first project of this possible franchise will start actual production but given hiw slow this seems to be moving and Cavilll other work like Highlander ( and the injury) it could well be 2030 before we see some live footage.

I have to admit, I'd go along with that too, but I'm a happy camper that learn that the Watchers are indeed involved.

It's just, I like it when Irons plays heroic characters instead of villains.

Were The Watchers good guys or bad guys in the series? I only watched the first few episode of the series, so I never got their introduction. I'm a big Buffy fan, so every time they come up my mind still goes to Giles and Wesley and their Watchers.

I'm assuming that's probably research for his Warhammer project.

I've been under the impression that his big personal passion project, I'm not positive but I think he might have been a big part of getting the whole thing started.

I'm not exactly sure how this got started, who convinced whom but Games Workshop, whose IP Warhammer 40.000 is amongst many others, have been branching out in media for a while now and are known beyond the tabletop community through videogames and some single projects, most recently an episode in the Secret Level antology, also made by Amazon.

So i figure Amazon might have locked down the IP and given that Cavill hasn't been shy talking about his hobby and being a very bankable star and him being very knowledgeable about the universe it may have been an easy decision.

Cavill hasn't pursued this as much as he has The Witcher but maybe after the experience on that show he wanted to make sure some other company wouldn't ruin another IP he loves.
