Highlander Reboot/Prequel Anticipation Thread

Duncan ends up fighting and killing Grayson and was the oldest immortal Duncan had killed at that time.

This storyline was a foreshadowing of the 'dark quickening' two parter they did later in the series. Duncan explained to Ritchie that Darius became good after killing an ancient 'good' immortal and absorbing his Quickening. It wasn't clear to anyone if that was the cause for Darius's change, or whether he just had a genuine change of heart. Duncan was worried that killing Grayson might turn him evil if the Quickening of an ancient immortal had that sort of power. It didn't, but they did run with it later in the series. Methos figured prominently in bringing Duncan back to the light.

I've often wondered, if The Gathering came down just Duncan and Connor would they actually fight each other to the death?
I don't think they would. Now Methos and Duncan would be interesting as I reckon Methos would double cross Duncan without giving it much thought.

Wonder if it occurred to immortals that the game is pointless, with new immortals constantly cropping up with no end in sight.

I always had this story in mind about an Immortal that went deep underground simply to rig the game.

Oh, I didn't know that came up in Endgame, I've only seen the first movie, a tiny bit of the original version of the second, and at most three or four episodes of The Series.

I thought the Gathering basically compelled the remaining Immortals to fight to the last. Like it's ultimately something they're unable to resist.

"When only a few of us are left we will feel an irresistible pull towards a faraway land to fight for the prize."

Isn't that how they explained away Highlander 3? That Kane missed the gathering by being buried underground? (And somehow this mystical quickening thing just didn't notice that he wasn't dead.)
They also had stories touching on being hidden away from the Game in Endgame and at least one ep of the show. Maybe more, I forget.

^

Let's pray that's one concept that won't be incorporated into the new film.

Duncan and Connor investigate a movie set where the story is about time traveling aliens from the planet Zeist, but all the details about these aliens fit immortals to a tee.

Nefertiti was hidden away in a sarcaphogos for a couple of thousand years in the series.

Came out looking like she'd had access to plenty of food and grooming products.

You'd think even an immortal being trapped somewhere would be incredibly malnourished at the point if freedom and their hair would continue to grow.

They must've had a TARDIS hidden in her Sarcaphogos.

It could potentially house all the things needed to make her look good & well fed.
