Highlander Reboot/Prequel Anticipation Thread

Just finished watching Reunion. Damn, that was good, and it made me realize how much I wanted more of that. It was a shame that for whatever reason, they either couldn't convince Adrian to be a part of it, or it wasn't the intent to have Duncan be a part of it. I'm still a little unclear as to whether or not the events of Endgame took place before this, or if this short film is meant to be the epilogue of the series, and that neither of the last two films happened.

Like I said in a previous post, I'd be happy with the notion that both Duncan and Connor are still out there, taking heads and seeing each other on occasion.

The big finish audio dramas were quite good, with Adrian Paul which were done after the source but were a follow up to Endgame. They don't seem to be available anywhere now as it looks like big finish lost the rights.

There is an episode of that with Connor who comes back to life somehow but can't remember now how

I'd love to have seen more of Methos, Amanda and Joe. It was a shame the Raven only lasted 1 season.

Back in the day, there was a lot of hatred for Endgame, and some if it perhaps rightly so.
But especially in the Director's Cut there is quite a lot of good stuff to be found. And come on.... Adrian Paul vs Donnie Yen?? That fight scene was epic.

Endgame is fine IMO

It's a sequel to the series and works well. I've only seen the version where Kate lives which might be the directors cut not sure

I'd actually rewatch it over the 1st movie but then i was a big fan of the series.

Kate lives in the Director's/Extended Cut.
Yeah, for me rewatch value goes to number one ofcourse, then Sourcerer and Endgame tied for second.

For me, as far as the movies go, ahem, 'there can be only one'. The first movie is what got me hooked.

But I was also a big fan of the show, at least the first five seasons. Six, not so much.

I was originally psyched when I first heard about plans for Endgame, but I was less than thrilled when they decided it was time for Connor to lose his head. I realize the idea was to pass the torch to Duncan, but they just as easily could've ended it with both of them still being alive and going off on their separate ways.

The first film is good. Most of the TV series is entertaining. Writing is hit or miss, but it's a fun watch.

I didn't like any of the films after the first.

No idea if this reboot is going to be any good. What can it do that the original film and series didn't already do?

I actually have a lot of love for Endgame. Bringing back cast from the first movie was a nice touch, even though trying to make older Lambert look like young Connor in the flashbacks was pretty ridiculous. Too bad de-aging wasn't possible back when it was made. While Kell wasn't your typical brawny baddy, it was nice after they tried Kurgan II with Mario VanPeebles in part 3.

I'd never seen Reunion before. That was cute. Not sure how that gets rid of The Source or Endgame though.

I think the only reason it retcons the source is because it was supposed to be present day and was filmed after the source.

Obv Joe is dead at this point in source canon

Also on Connors age, at least they didn't bring Kenny back from the series, how would they have got away with that?
