Right, but CorporalCaptain is stating that it wasn't by Spock's station.
But why does anyone think that "visual aid" has anything to do with TAS, beyond the additional lift.
If fact, IIRC, @Mytran posted that in the thread* I linked to in my previous post when the discussion had turned to how certain camera shots throughout the show revealed that not all the sections were present when shooting.
And what that might mean from, to paraphrase, from a Thermian point of view.

Exactly. The new door was on the other, opposite side, near the viewscreen.

I adhere to the hidden door theory. The big flat wall sections to either side of the main viewscreen, the ones that butt up against the black perimeter stations, could easily swing open. Out you go, and there's a staircase or at least a ladder down.
They had that in Space Seed and Kirk rushed over there to open it, but the hidden door can be locked shut from Engineering for obvious starship design reasons (ask no questions!). And the problem in Day of the Dove was that the alien entity sealed all the bulkheads, so again it wasn't going to open.

That's his theory. It falls in line with the FJ blueprints, but is obviously non-canon.
Maybe it's where the emergency heads are. when you gotta go, you gotta go. Even the Galaxy class ship blue prints show heads on the Bridge:

Watching a clip of William Windom on "Murder, She Wrote" made me notice he's left handed.
I don't think I picked up on that when he was in The Doomsday Machine.

It would have been a nice touch if everyone was left handed in the Mirror Universe, but they didn't think of it:
Also, they should have had Mirror Sulu and Chekov trade seats at the helm console, to highlight the weirdness of this place.
I wondered if they should have shot the episode "right handed" as usual, but then flipped the film over, so the Mirror bridge and other sets have reversed floor plans. Everybody's hair would be combed backwards, but that's okay because when Kirk and Co. beam into the MU, the transporter flips their physical patterns.
The flipped wall signage would be no problem because it's part of the point, like in Journey to the Far Side of the Sun. But "upon reflection," I don't think that's a good idea. The audience might think it's a mistake rather than a portrayal.

Well, maybe to the maximum extent. But I love the idea of Sulu and Chekov switching stations, which would have been along the lines of the higher backrest/headrest on the captain's chair and Scotty being out of the chain of command (and Sulu in red). One problem, though—the cool security board plot wouldn’t have worked.

I'm a lefty and unless you see us writing, you won't notice. It's not like we're "white on the right side" or something. And since everyone wears pashers on the same side, the gunhand isn't a tell either.
People never ever notice my dominant hand until I sign something.
During the Doomsday Machine, at 24:33 there's a blink and you miss it shot of Decker signing a report during the PK attack and he's using his right hand.
BTW that shot is f'n hilarious in that the yeoman would take time time RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT to come to the guy who just forcefully assumed command for him to sign something.
And there's no sign of her before or after.

Tuvok (and Tim Russ) is left handed, and his phaser is holstered on the right side for easy access.
I don't think I've noticed such a thing with TOS crew, though. Might be there and I just never noticed.
My wife (and a lot of her side of the family) is a lefty. And you really don't see it until you observe her actually writing using a pen or pencil.
