And it’s a safe bet that if that had been onscreen Roddenberry would be roasted for it today.Maybe a bit surprising is that the Talosian didn't indicate whether Pike had any reciprocal fantasies about either woman.

You know....I never gave that much thought into what happened on Rigel in The Cage.
Pike must have really thought the situation was safe to have a young yeoman* down there. So to get fooled that badly and get him killed...yeah, I can see how that really shook him up
*Rand aside. Who they seem to have ditched the yeoman thing because she's incredibly talented and smart. She can helm the damn starship.
You know the real sexism of The Cage is the Talosians saying how Colt and Number One harbor fantasies of Pike without at least giving *Number One* a chance to address it to Pike. TODAY, on DISC or their own show, I can totally see Rebecca Romain owning it. "And?? So?? He's handsome. We're both adults. It's not like I'm pining for you or scheming to drag you to the alter.....whats your excuse Colt??"
Thankfully by the 2020's women got over being horny.
That would make even less sense than a blanket prohibition. If some women are seen as eligible to be assigned as first officer and next in line to starship command, what then would be the argument against all women being eligible?
Yes but Number One had 'fantasies' about Pike. It's pretty obvious to me that when Pike said Number One is different, he simply meant he regards her in a different way from other women; not that she's actually different in some way.
Guess what?
I used to be good friends with a woman where I had no romantic interest in her and she had none in me. We were at a party once and I observed that another woman there was pretty hot. My female friend looks at me and says "What am I, chopped liver?"
I'll give you one guess as to what my response to her was. Yep, the same as Pike's response to Number One.

Possibly Kirk's opinions on women are different than your own? Kirk made his views on women clear in a number of episodes.Kirk said the people were better than Earth people. They still regarded 'woman' as prizes to be shared. Thewy didn't seem all that noble to mew.
I've seen doctors and nurses hold patients hands on many occasons. It can be very reassuring for people going through scary times in their lives. Also Chapel holds Spock's hand. I've been in hospital many times and nobody held my hand ever except to take my pulse
Vulcans are very reserved and urban, maybe it's the afront of being struck repeatedly that helps them "awaken" and not the physical sensation itself?Slapping? Really? I guess there's no logic in developing a Vulcan stim, when slapping works just fine.
I always looked at it as McCoy following the Hippocratic oath. IE - another stimulant shot would cause harm so McCoy can't do it, hence the line: "That's as much as I dare do."Was watching the Nazi episode and noticed after McCoy says that they cannot give the Professor another stimulant Kirk tells McCoy to keep an eye on Spock, shoves him out of the room and gives Gill the stimulant even though it might kill him. I know thousands of lives were at risk but I never realised Kirk was so ruthless.

gill's chest was shreaded with bullets, doubt mccoy could have saved him.McCoy could have quickly saved him in sick bay

From the transcripts, no that's not what happened.Gill never "told" Kirk anything. At best, he mindlessly parroted Kirk's own words
He said "McCoy could have quickly saved him," that sounds like beaming Gill up after being shot. He's saying that the Starfleet crew could have beamed Gill up to the ship to reverse the effect of the drug that Melakon gave him
No I meant before the shooting. instead of sitting there and having Spock try to mind meld with him and McCoy's second-guessing what type of narcotic they used; they could've have directly beamed enough to sick bay and probably had him conscious within 5 minutes or less. From the transcripts, no that's not what happened. He said "McCoy could have quickly saved him," that sounds like beaming Gill up after being shot.
