All I know is that I want major brotherly angst and I didn't get it. Nathan was too damned reasonable when Peter confessed.

What do you think this is, Supernatural?

Yeah the Petrellis are much more frakked up. And Nathan is much more of a father figure for Peter, which might have made him more peaceful about it. Also, was he convinced that God revived him at that time?

God in the form of a velvety voiced, sexually charged Old Testament angel calling himself Castiel who bears a striking resemblance to Alexis Draden of 24. He's as luscious as Adrian Pasdar.

Oh Temis, we could start a mile long thread about which brother pairing is more fucked up. Dean has also been a father figure to his baby brother Sam his entire life because their father lost his frigging mind when Azazel charcobroiled his wife on the ceiling of Sam's nursery. Of course, I concede that Peter shooting Nathan temporarily gives the Petrellis a leg up in the "fucked up" contest. Nathan being more willing to forgive because he's a father figure might be significant. Would fans be as forgiving of Nathan shooting Peter? I'm not so sure.

Why not throw Reaper in the mix? Sam's the Second Coming, maybe he can fix all this nonsense.

I admit, I haven't been watching Supernatural, but I have the notion the Wincester boys aren't too far gone, really...they seem genuinely loving towards each other and essentially stable and sane...but the Petrellis have obviously been pretty severely screwed up by their weird upbringing and have some strikingly negative personality traits, and a dysfunctional relationship that can easily turn destructive, which just make them the more interesting to me. And Sylar will fit right into this family circus, won't he?

And the role of God - or Fate - on Heroes strikes me as sinister. God wants to destroy the planet and screw everyone up. Future Peter can flail around, shoot his brother or spare him, but a bigger disaster is around every corner, and everything he does to stave it off simply makes the inevitable disaster even worse. That would drive anyone insane.

Would fans be as forgiving of Nathan shooting Peter?

About half the fans (the male half, I'm sure ) seem to loathe Peter with the fiery intensity of a thousand supernovas, so there would be much rejoicing. Fortunately, Peter is indestructible so even if he dies (again, I've lost count) I won't believe it.

Plus they can always import a Future Peter from any timeline they want. Nobody can be killed on this frakkin show, it's total chaos!

I just checked the Hurt-Heal thread to see if Petey had gone down for the count yet...not quite, but he's not doing well. I can see who the popular Petrellis are...Nathan and especially everyone's pet, Sylar.

Ahhhh, I don't hate Peter. He's a bit of an emo boy, but he means well. I like Milo Ventimiglia soooooo much better on this series than I did on Gilmore Girls. I couldn't stand him as that surly sour puss Jess. He definitely didn't strike me as someone sexy enough for miss virgin Rory to leave her upstanding boyfriend for. It's even funnier when you compare Ventimiglia to Jared Padalecki today, all of six feet five with a linebacker's body. Milo is so scrawny and Jared is unbelievably buff.

I like Ventimiglia for two good reasons:

1. He is part-Italian (like yours truly)
2. He was banging Hayden Panatierre when she was underage (or close enough to qualify as barely legal.)

Just saw the two episodes but I'm not going to reread the thread all the way through.

I will however say that Heroes is back and in a big way. What a phenomenal start to this season so far with the twists and surprises (Linderman, Tracy/Nikki (What happened to Micha), and all those other things) and the cast actually interacting with one another. These two felt like Season 1 episodes even though I will say I wish we got more Noah. Colman really is the star of this show, but I still love Hayden. Unless Claire gets a love interest this season, I love her like I did back in season 1. I think the only storylines I don't care for are the one with Matt (I knew it was Africa way before it was revealed) and Hiro/Ando. What people see in that pairing I will never know.

Heroes would benefit greatly from trimming off about half its cast. Save Hiro and Ando for the second arc. Write out Matt, Mohinder, and Maya. The superhero serum/formula could come from some former schlub who worked for the company. The focus should be on Clare/Noah, Sylar, and the Petrelli clan dealing with the escapees. Tracy can stay as someone to seduce Nathan away from "God." Nathan going back into politics is the way to go.

Focusing on few characters can be great. The best episode of Heroes is still the one from season one that was focused entirely on Noah. They need to have more episodes like that which deal with just one or two main characters. Of course the writing has to good and be about a character that deserves the attention. I don't think anyone wants a Maya episode.

I would dearly love an episode focusing solely on Nathan/Peter, specifically on the "whys" of the shooting. The storyline is begging for it. If it's glossed over, Tim Kring isn't as smart as I once thought he was. I agree that "Company Man" was the best episode of season one. I learned to love Noah that episode.
