Here it is! (The Teaser from Cloverfield)

Re: Here it is!

Ok!

So, I saw Cloverfield - which was an AWESOME movie. When the Star Trek trailer came up, my jaw hit the floor. The Enterprise looked so damn good, I couldn't even believe it. for the first time ever, she looked HUGE to my eyes. When we heard Nimoy's, "Space, the final frontier..." a good amount of people in the theater began cheering. Once The Lady was unveiled, there was an applause coming from most of the audience.

I was so glad to see that. :)

Re: Here it is!

^^ Now that's great to hear. I would be so happy to not be the only one in the theater cheering for the old girl.

I am guessing it is so dark because it is a cam shot. I suppose the real one via streaming might be a little better. It can not be worse quality.

A little? The cam video was useless, might as well have been a .wav audio file. I'd expect a perfect Paramount HD release Monday, nothing less!

Re: Here it is!

There's a thread about Cloverfield over at Slashdot.com, CmdrTaco has an interesting aside...

(Also, there was a Star Trek teaser trailer attached, and I'm almost ashamed to admit that I want it so badly it made me hurt. Please Abrams, don't screw it up)
:guffaw:

Re: Here it is!

Saw the trailer last night. It was beautiful.

And as much as I loved it, it still tells us nothing about the tone or the style or much of anything we are going to see in December. (I say this as a fan who is curious about these things, not as a moron who does not understand what a teaser trailer is, so please don't try to explain a teaser trailer to me.)

And watching "Cloverfield," with it's distinct visual style, made me wonder if Abrams will be able to resist putting some type of modern spin on the way we see the Star Trek universe. (Not that I'm for or against that. We'll just have to wait and see.)

"Cloverfield" - and "Lost" - tell me that JJ Abrams puts a lot of effort into making sure that each film he's involved with has a unique style. He knows that ST already has a style. He'll be re-presenting that style to ensure it appeals to the widest cross-section possible while offending the least number of diehards.

I trust him to do what's necessary.

I guess what I'm saying is that it will be interesting to see how he balances his attempt to respect the nostalgic feel of the late sixties with his natural desire to "make it hip."

I'm not worried. Just curious.

Nuh uh. You are!

Squiggyfm, I'm not warning you for this because InstantKarma edited his post at about the same time you were writing this...so I have no way of knowing what was said.

However, if by chance you were throwing petrol on the fire, I need you to stop it.

Thanks.

So know ones shot a better trailer with a better camera and the sound not crapping out? The fan base is smaller than we think :(

Just wait 'til the official one goes up next week. Then we can all watch over and over to our heart's content.

Hey, does anyone know when we can expect an actual trailer?
