Spoilers Hawkeye -Discussion Thread

Yelena really overdid it with the makeup. She looked 20 years older with it on. :)
It was pretty good episode. Nothing amazing. Shame they didn’t go through NBC Studios during the battle. That would have been fun.
It was good seeing Fisk completely dominating Kate in the fight. Spider-Man has difficulty against him so that makes sense. Ending with Echo was fine but they really should have added a post credit scene showing that he’s okay. That could rub people the wrong way I feel.
Speaking of the post credit scene, I’m amazed they went into that much effort. It was good but I would have preferred something that drives the story forward. No season 2 sting at the end as well which is a bummer.

So when does Jack get his own show?

Saw the finale.

That was surprisingly lighthearted.
Kingpin was very much the same as in Daredevil, even though this family friendly show couldn’t show his true brutality.
But knowing him from Daredevil made you worry about Kate when she took him on 1v1…
There was no way she could beat him brute forcing.

Pretty much everyone here was on point on who the watch belonged to.

The “discussion “ between Yelena and Clint went about as expected.

Lady Hawk and Hawkshot!

And about that post credit scene!
Avengers Assemble! :shifty:

An entertaining finale, but I feel it was trying to serve too many plotlines at once and a couple of things, particularly the matter of Kate's mother, got short shrift as a result. Even Kate felt a little sidelined at times, though she did get some good business with Yelena and a marquee fight with Kingpin.

I was a bit surprised by just how much screen time Kingpin got. We didn't just get a couple of brief scenes; he was prominent throughout the whole episode and was even the final boss for Kate.

If the "Daredevil canon question" was answered here, I missed it. Aside from the fact that I don't remember DD's Fisk being quite this superstrong and indestructible.

Another iffy canon issue -- the watch revealed that Laura was SHIELD Agent 19, which was Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird's code number in the comics, but Bobbi was a regular on Agents of SHIELD. Then again, AoS's Bobbi never used the Mockingbird code name, so it's not quite a contradiction.

Pretty sure the scene of Kate labelling the trick arrows was straight out of the Matt Fraction comics.

In Rogers: The Musical, I can't figure out who that kid with the baseball cap and the black T-shirt with the red zigzag pattern is supposed to be.

Witness? He’s blind

"Witness" is not limited to "eyewitness."

A satisfying ending to the season. D'Onofrio was a great Kingpin and it was nice to see the fiancee redeemed somewhat, though he's still a douche. Kingpin's not dead, though. He deflected her shots or will survive them.

Pages and pages ago we all remembered that Jaques was an Avenger in the 60s/70s.

The Swordsman/Cosmic Joseph.

He was also supposed to be the circus person who trained Clint Barton.

It went as much as i expected which is not bad but also not 100% knock the roof off the MCU ( but that's also not what the show is about).

First of all - i soooo want a Yelena and Kate show right now. Their fight was so fantastic, especially the ending. Yelena is just so hilarious when she fangirls over moves and cool stuff, Marvel needs to give Florence Pugh everything she wants just so she continues to play the character. The same applies to Hailee Steinfeld - she is awesome in that role ( in fact i haven't seen a bad performance from Steinfeld yet).
Those two together and there's sparks flying - i can't wait for them to properly team up again either in a show or movie and i hope it'll be not that far away.

Clint/Kate vs. Track Suit Mafia - THE moneyshot scene of the episode. Trick arrows galore and some awesome arrow effects. It's just so funny to imagine how they come up with them - did Clint sit together one day with Tony and they used all the brainstorming ideas and made them into an arrow, no matter how ridiculous they were? ( i could completely see Tony going for it, he was as much manchild as he was a brilliant engineer)

Mystery of the watch finally revealed.. nothing so groundbreaking as being an Iron Man suit but now we know where Clint and his wife met ;)

Vincen't D'Onofrio was brilliant as always in that role, he was a bit restrained due to the show itself but he was/is still a presence and i don't buy it for a second that he got shot by Maya.

Yelena and Clint making up went as expected - Clint immediately got it out of the way that the actual story is so outlandish that no one would believe it ( save for the few people that actually fought in the Infinity War and know what the Infinity Stones are). It didn't convince me how fast Yelena believed him but then again the writers wrote themselves into a corner there and barring any fantastic out of left field crazy MCU act like Dr. Strange appearing and teleporting her back to the scene so she can see herself they did what they could. The scene served its purpose, let's leave it at that and look forward.

Really great show, fantastic performances by Renner and Steinfeld and i still hate the Avengers musical ( that is a double portion of cringe, and i usually like well made musicals).

Fitz called Bobbi "bird" over coms once.

I'm sure Fisk somehow survived that confrontation with Maya. To be continued...

I was actually hoping that Yelena would be joining the Barton family for Christmas as well, with the Bartons simply accepting Natasha's sister as family, because why wouldn't they?

I think those Tracksuits in the van were screwed even before the owl came and swept them up. If I recall correctly, the shrinking vehicles in the Ant-Man movies were sealed environments, just like the suit.

Maya's shots were either deflected at the last moment by Kingpin grabbing her gun or they didn't kill him, and when Season 2 begins we may well see her in his custody awaiting punishment for her betrayal or Kingpin pulling himself off the pavement and brushing off the impacts of her bullets.

Did anyone notice in the scene where Clint is pinned down by Kazi and he is reaching for the arrow and then something happens and he is free? What was that? Did they cut a blow to balls scene or something? All we got was a close up of Kazi's face and a punching sound. I'm guessing it was the balls but it was really weird and annoyed the hell out of me because it looks like it was edited after the fact. You show people getting stabbed, jumping out windows and getting blown up but a kick in the balls is where they draw the line?

Anyway, in Marvel we trust. Fantastic series. Perfect episode to end the series. I love all the characters. Can't wait to see Echo again in her own show. BTW, who was the little kid? I imagine he's going to be showing up again?

He shook off being shot in the chest by an arrow, hit by a car, and blown up. Something tells me he got a dose of super-soldier formula or the equivalent since we last saw him. No doubt he survived. (Heck, any villain who only apparently gets killed off-camera can be presumed to have survived, even if it makes no in-story sense.)

Nice thought, but I think maybe it's too soon for her to be ready for that.

Oh, right -- the Isaac Asimov Fantastic Voyage novelization principle. The air molecules would be too big for them to breathe.

Oh, Maya… you should have went for the head.

It looked to me like she actually was aiming for the head, but Fisk could've deflected her aim at the last instant.

I'm surprised by the modest response, I thought the episode was really fun and entertaining, lots of punch the air moments and moving moments. Usually I'm the other side of these things so it feels good to have really enjoyed it. Maybe I'm feeling festive with the seasonal vibe.

I loved during the musical moment that the best they could come up with for Clint is he seems like a nice guy.
