I remember that bling Kingpin storyline

:D

Ai yi yi :ack:

From a google search
Does Kingpin have powers in Hawkeye?
That's right, the only radiation that gives Kingpin any powers is when he uses the microwave to reheat his leftover chicken. It also works parallel to his extensive plot armor.

I'm guessing the latter, especially if Kingpin wasn't blipped (and Matt was...), which allowed him to consolidate power and gather resources such as that to protect himself against all threats.

Yea. I think Kingpin having free reign over NYC when apparently the city (or much of it) went into anarchy and chaos after the blip would have given him a lot of resources to plunder. I don't think he has the Flag Smasher serum because he wasn't on that level of strength, but he certainly is not 'normal' even for him. I think there's a scene of him lifting weights in Daredevil and he had a massive amount of weight, but even with that ripping a car door off the car seems beyond 'really strong guy' levels of strength

I think I read somewhere that in the comics Kingpin was so big and muscular that it was really hard to hurt him, so I had just assumed that was what they were going for with the arrows. If he was supposed to be wearing armor, I wouldn't think they would have gone as far as they did. As for him throwing Kate around, I had just assumed that was just because of the size difference. The only thing that really seemed too extreme for me was pulling the car door off, that is a bit much for even someone who's supposed to be extremely big, and strong.
If the "Daredevil canon question" was answered here, I missed it.
Yeah, I wasn't sure about that either. I didn't notice anything that referenced or contradicted Daredevil.
Maya's shots were either deflected at the last moment by Kingpin grabbing her gun or they didn't kill him, and when Season 2 begins we may well see her in his custody awaiting punishment for her betrayal or Kingpin pulling himself off the pavement and brushing off the impacts of her bullets.
I'm thinking that will probably be addressed in Echo, Maya's show, rather than Hawkeye Season 2. I guess Echo could be a prequel, but it seems a lot more likely to me, that Echo will pick up where this left off.

I thought this was a great finale, it had some really fun action, and I thought they did a pretty good job of tying things up. I was a little surprised that we didn't get a scene with Clint explicitly retiring, but it looks like he's still going to be Hawkeye. I know he seemed to be telling Kate she could call herself Hawkeye, but in the comics they were both Hawkeye at the same, so they could do the same thing in the show. I'm curious if Kate was moving in with the Bartons or if she was just visiting for Christmas.
I was surprised we got so much Kingpin, I had expected him to just show up for one or two scenes at the end. The big fight with him and Kate was pretty cool.
I love that they had Jack and the LARPers helping out during the big fight.
Kate and Yelena's fight was hilarious, Hailee Steinfeld and Florence Pugh are a great comedic pairing, and now I want show that focused on them as a duo.
We didn't get as much with Kate's mom as I expected, but I was pretty happy with what I we did get.
Loved all the trick arrows.
It's pretty clear from the way they didn't show what happened with Maya and Kingpin, that they are both alive and their conflict will continue into the Echo series.
Loved the song from the Rogers musical as the mid credits scene. I'm assuming there wasn't anything else after the rest of the credits?
Were the people in the musical anybody notable? That seemed like the perfect place to bring in some real Broadway stars or singers for cameos.

Guys, it was a plotpoint on 'Daredevil' that Fisk wore specially made suits lined with some high-end anti-ballistic material (the same stuff Matt eventually gets his suit made out of too.) And all that was almost a decade ago at this point. Between Ultron, Toomes, The Tinkerer, and The Blip, who knows when else made it onto the black market in the mean time. So between that, how densely muscled he is and how high his pain tolerance is; nothing we saw was outside of what we've come to expect from him.

As for being shot in the face: you all know the rules. No body, no death. He'll be back.

Don't forget being untroubled by being hit by a car and thrown through a store window, and then limping away from having a "Too Dangerous" arrow literally explode at his feet. Those are the things that I don't think could happen without superpowers.

It sure seemed like she was just a holiday guest. I didn't see a U-Haul. And she still has her own place, though it needs a bit of fixing up from the fire damage. And isn't she still pretty rich, even with her mom in jail?

"Stop making me like you!"
"I'm sorry, I can't help it."

Nope, that was it.

I liked how more self-contained this series was. It doesn't feel like a cocktease to the next MCU film or show, which WandaVision and Loki certainly felt. I enjoyed those but I felt Hawkeye wasn't teeing up the next thing.
Also didn't need a world-level threat, not that those are necessarily bad but it's nice not to have to go there every time.

OK, I forgot about all of the other stuff that happened, that does seem like a bit much for a non-superpowered person.

She could have always gone back to get her stuff later.

Nope, that was it.
Thanks, I just wanted to make sure.

No reason to think she would. Why would she move in with them? It's not like her mom's arrest leaves her homeless, since she already lived on her own.

Besides, this series (season?) was the story of Kate coming into her own as the new Hawkeye. I felt before that bringing in Yelena was a distraction from the main story, but now I see that was the point, to separate Clint into a side story and leave it up to Kate to wrap up the main plots, both taking down the Kingpin and bringing Eleanor to justice, all by herself. At the end, she's not Clint's protegee anymore, she's his equal. It undermines that if the ending has her remaining dependent on Clint by moving in with him, rather than becoming her own independent person.

Yeah Kate is obviously just at the Barton farm for a holiday visit, mostly because her entire family (who is exactly one person) is now in jail. How rich she still is in all this depends on how much of her mother's assets the feds end up ceasing since pretty much all of it probably came from laundering money for Fisk. I mean if nothing else then the security company is probably toast.
I also kinda wanted to see Yelena invited too, but I suppose it's still a little too soon and she'd need space and some time to process.

Also, random thought but did we even find out *why* Armand III was knocked off? I'm assuming it was because he found out about the laundering, but for all we know he was as deep into it as Elenore. Not that it matters either way I suppose.

No, I don't think we every found out the motive for his murder but I suspect you're right that he found out about the laundering.

That was freakin' awesome! Every last second of it. So many fights yet it never felt cluttered and nobody felt sidelined, even Jack got his moment!

Can't imagine they'd give us Kingpin just to kill him. So glad Clint didn't die and not sure what was the best bit. Kate vs Yelena? Kate vs Fisk? Kate and Clint vs the Tracksuit Mafia?

Definitely stuck the landing anyway and hopefully we'll get at least one more season with Clint and Kate before the mantle is passed over properly. Also I concur with what someone above says, Marvel please give Pugh everything she wants!

That was a great series, and I enjoyed that a whole lot more than I enjoyed Wandavision. I liked Wandavision to an extent, but I kinda felt the last few episodes didn't really stick the landing as well as this series did. I loved the interactions, and yeah I would love to see a Kate and Yelena series, like, yesterday. I love when they interact, and the fight scene was probably my favorite thing about this episode. I also really liked Yelena and Clint's scenes at the end and I think this series actually made Black Widow a much better movie in hindsight. Yelena was the best thing to come out of the movie, and now I think she's my favorite character of all the new characters we have been introduced to. Pugh is doing a phenomenal job with her.

Yes. The prospect of Pugh headlining a Black Widow 2 does a lot to ease my regret that we won't see Johanssen headlining a Black Widow 2. In fact, I think I might like her even better.

I think the most interesting thing about Yelena here was that she liked Kate even though Kate was the ally of someone she hated and wanted to kill. She wanted to stop Kate from getting in her way, but didn't find her guilty by association and didn't hold their conflicting agendas against Kate. It was a really cool character dynamic.
