From TV.com:

When a former cyber-terrorism expert is kidnapped, McGarrett & his team are assigned to find the missing expert in order to protect national security.

Cyber terrorism didn't exist when Hawaii 5-0 was on.

Or for more than a decade after it ended for that matter.

Well, this isn't a period piece, but a modern reboot. It's only natural they'd modernize the stories as well.

It was remade? I didn't know that. I thought you were discussing the Jack Lord show.

^Well, the way you tell the difference is that the old show was Hawaii Five-O (letter O) and the new one is Hawaii Five-0 (numeral zero). Wasn't it nice of them to provide such a clear way to keep them straight? ;)

And the whole "discussion/spoilers" thing, the "1x02", the uncommonality of threads being made to discuss 30 year old (non-Trek) TV shows in this manner and, you know, the fact that the new show has been heavily marketed and advertised all Summer.

Stuff like that. ;)

And, yeah: The shortest press release in history.

I have no clue if you're serious or not. None whatsoever.

The original show was Hawaii Five-O (Letter).
The new show is Hawaii Five-0 (Number).

Whether or not this was done to distinguish the two series (which would be a silly or dumb thing to do since both series are called "Hawaii Five-Oh" I do not know. But both series use the letter/number/phonetic differently.

The wink smiley was included as a clue that I wasn't serious about the second sentence (but was being sarcastic). If you're asking whether the statement in the first sentence is truthful, it is indeed.

Another way to go would be for me to actually see it. I haven't yet, which is why, until today, I didn't even know there was a new version.

I might have to check it out one of these days.

It'll be on tonight at 10/9 central on your local CBS affiliate, I'm sure last week's pilot can be found on CBS's website.
