Has Anyone Else's Interest Disappeared?

The characters suck. I don't mind that two of the main characters are banging each other - but to put all the relationship stuff off screen and just assume that they're in love with each other is cheap.

I feel like it really is BSG but without any of the subtlety... and BSG was anything but subtle.

I'm only up to episode four, and it's taken me two attempts to get 15 minutes into it...So far, SGU is one of the most boring, uninteresting S/F shows I've ever seen. Snoozeworthy.

SGU is actually my first Stargate series and I like what I'm seeing a lot. I do think, though, that these initial episodes are about the crew/passengers of Destiny trying to adapt to their new surroundings and each other. It's all about trying to survive on Destiny right now instead of introducing a new bad guy to fight--which I think that will come later.

I really like this show, it shows a lot of potential! Although I loved SG1 and SGA I missed the depth that SGU seem to aim for. I think SGU is going to develop into a great show in the future!

I haven't lost interest, but I can see why some fans of previous SG shows may have done so. It is a very different show from its predecessors, and while I'm enjoying that, others may miss the general structure from previous shows that was more oriented towards exploring and action. I think SGU will get to that point eventually, but they're definitely taking their time with the world-building.

I think part of the reason I'm so open to SGU's structure is that I've spent the last couple months catching up on SGA, so I've been getting a concentrated dose of "Visit the medieval village in the Vancouver forest..." stories that SGU balances out a bit in my entertainment rotation. I can see why after five years of SGA the writers wanted to go in a different direction.

I agree. I guess I feel (and this isn't constructive, but oh well) if you want more SG-1 you've got 10 years of episodes in the can to choose from.

I'm willing to go a little longer. I find a few of the characters interesting--Eli, Young, Greer, and Rush--and it's enough to keep me going at this point. Say unlike Defying Gravity which I gave up on halfway through the third episode.

Every episode seems to be focused around going through the gate to get an element. We have had earth and water. I am waiting for them to need to find fire before I give up on the show.

I'm mildly into the show. It is quite boring at times, but I keep watching because it does certain things right and I'm hopeful things will eventually pick up.

I'm enjoying it so far. The fact that it's so different from Atlantis is what's keeping my interest.

Although I really like both SG1 and Atlantis I agree that SGU being the total opposit of Atlantis is an interesting touch. This is one of the things that holds my interest in the show as well and it will be interesting to see where they will take the show in the future!

Stargate has never been good, this show is just trying so hard to be serious and deep, only it's now as retarded as the franchise's fanbase.

I'd had my fill of the Stargate franchise, but Universe has put an end to that. The show is fresh and intriguing and I love the mystery and exploration angles without having to rely on excessive gunfire to make it exciting.

I'm not enjoying the Eli/Chloe/Scott stuff, but if they keep delivering episodes with a sense of wonder, I'll stomach the occasional love scenes and puppy-dog eyes.

And, good or evil, Rush is THE man.

It was nice seeing Jack again but the boring bland characters, recycled plots and cheap shortcuts like the stones bring it awfully close to "don´t give a shi**" territory.

Why does every episode feel like they took elements from SG1, SGA and nuBSG but forgot to include anything that made those worth watching?

im sorry but the emo-20 something stuff with Eli, chloe and matt has to go...fast, an the melo-drama with telford, young an emily really wasnt necessary. they could have made SGU more 'mature' without the soap opera melo-drama stuff..but thats my opinion
