Ha, nette Idee für ein Spiel. I don't have to take guesses, though. 
I'm not sure, but I believe for the German TV broadcast they were shown over the original title cards after the opening sequence, yes. On the DVDs, though, they didn't alter the original video, so no German titles.
Or am I misunderstanding your question?

When we lived there, I asked why they always changed the titles of things; and they told me they like things more literal (and less vague).
Star Trek was too vague, I guess, so they changed it to Raumschiff Enterprise (Space Ship Enterprise).
Can't figure why they changed "Raw Deal" to "City Hai" ("City Shark"), though. That's not very literal.

That's Where No Man Has Gone Before. For whatever reason the German title refers to the line of dialog where Mitchell calls Dr. Dehner a 'walking freezer unit', which in the dubbed version is translated to 'the top of the iceberg'.
2. Pokergames
That's The Corbomite Maneuver and the German title hints at Kirk's bluff at the climax of the episode.

That's The Enemy Within; a rather literal approach at describing the premise of the episode. Fittingly, though, the German title for TNG's Second Chances is Riker:2=? ...
4. The Central Nervous System Manipulator
That's Dagger of the Mind. The title is the German name of Dr. Adams' neural neutralizer device.
5. War of Computers
That's A Taste of Armageddon and is obviously an allusion to the Eminiar/Vendikar war decided by computers.

In my opinion there's no logic whatsoever behind most of the German titles for foreign productions and one is better off not thinking about it too much. The most absurd titles are those where they actually give an English title to the German release that differs from the original title. Like the 2008 thriller Taken, which got the title 96 Hours in Germany (not Entführt – which would be the correct translation – nor 96 Stunden, the translation of 96 Hours). It doesn't make any sense at all.

You know, that makes me wonder whether Facets was renamed "Jadzia:8=?"

It should not be Riker:2, but Riker x 2.
Thanks for that...didn´t have time to post over the weekend.
TOS on TV had its own german title cards. Something else: The dub often made the episodes more funny then they actually are...that´s because ZDF (the channel who initally broadcast TOS) thought it was a show for kids. And don´t get me started on that awful episode "Weltraumfieber" (space feaver)..wich was a total recut of "Amok Time" to totally change the plot.
My all-time favourite is "Notlandung auf Galileo 7" ("Emergency landing on Galileo 7"). I mean, how many minutes of the episode do you have to watch to get that Galileo 7 is not the planet but the shuttle? 
And then there are those titles that already give too much away of the episode like "Horta rettet ihre Kinder" ("Horta saves her children"). Yeah, thank you very much.
