Spoilers Gotham: the final season

Interesting approach to the Jeremiah story, they found a way to sort of merge the canon events with the "Joker did it" history from Batman 89. I haven't noticed before if they've done it but Bruce's trenchcoat has leather sleeves evoking Batman's bracers. I'm assuming Barbara (who looks frickin' amazing in this episode) is going to meet a bad end by the end of the series forcing Gordon to raise the child (who he'll name Barbara in her honor) to set up the canon status quo.

First good episode of Season 5 and it only took half the season to get there. Hopefully the remaining episodes will also be good.

So, they introduce Ventriloquist and what I assume are their versions of Clayface & Killer Croc and immediately kill off two of them.
Granted, dead doesn't necessarily mean dead on this show, but it still feels like a waste of those characters.

On a side note, who's left from the Batman rouges gallery that they haven't used yet?
Other than Crazy Quilt that is.

I'll miss Arthur Penn because I loved to hear him call Penguin, Mr. Cobblepot. Never ceased to amuse me.

Actually they already did Clayface a while back, Jane Doe is a different character from the comics. I'd never heard of her, but I looked up the name after they said it, and it turns out there is a Jane Doe in the comics who has only made a handful of appearances. In the comics she's just a regular person who is an expert mimic, rather than an actual shapeshifter like she was here.
Penn turning into The Ventriloquist was a big surprise, I either hadn't heard they were doing the character this season, or forgot, so when he pulled out Scarface my jaw just about hit the floor.
It was nice to get some more backstory for Harvey.

That's been my assumption since she first announced she was pregnant, but now it is starting to look like there's a slight chance she might end up redeeming herself instead.

I'm assuming Penn wasn't THE Ventriloquist given he never faced Batman and is now dead. Presumably Arnold Wesker will somehow get his hands on Scarface and become the Ventriloquist from the comics.

I've never heard of Jane Doe even though I'm a life long Batman fan. At first I thought it was another Clayface. Her deal with the mask reminded me of Calendar Girl from The New Batman Adventures.

I was under the impression the guy in the sewer was Killer Croc but I doubt it now.

Bruce has been totally sidelined this season. Yeah he's kicking butt but Gordon is the focus and it just feels like he's going in circles whereas Bruce is actually developing. I did enjoy this episode but it wasn't as good as last week and this season is by far my least favourite.

I thought about Killer Croc with the guy in the sewer too, but he looked more burned than scaly, so I think he was more of a generic guy who was driven insane by the chemicals.
Here's the DC Wiki's page on Jane Doe.

Not just Bruce, Alfred as well :( He should be there with all the action, but he rarely gets a few lines. It's as if they have forgotten about him. He was also far in the back with everyone else in the front in the promo picture of the season.

No one should expect anything to do with this show to make any sense. Or follow previous existing versions of the characters. They even had their own multiple versions of the same characters....

I left the show after a few episodes. People who stuck with it this long and enjoy it - that is great. No irony or sarcasm to that at all.

I am bemused to see shock and anger to this from its actual fans on Twitter and Facebook. This show has never given any reason it would live up to any expectations on anything.

Are we absolutely sure it is not an April Fools joke?

I have given up it making sense...I hate the plotlines and how it is Batman before Batman....but nearly all the actors are great and i would love to see them in 10- 15 years for a Batman reboot movie...perfect actors just dump the storylines

I've never watched it, but for some reason through the years I'd often read through the 'Gotham' threads and be surprised how mercilessly the people who watch the show would rip into it and complain. I hope that someone enjoyed it; life is too short to waste so much time on something you seem to hate, and so many people really seemed to hate the show. I've heard that on various podcasts too, about how many 'Gotham' fans(?) seem to hate the show, but keep watching...

I was initially intrigued by the original premise, wandered off when it started to drift too much away from that premise, but gave it another shot via Netflix and have come to fully embrace its madness.

It’s real. They had leaked set photos a few months ago showing this version of joker

Definitely a different look than what’s were used to

Very creepy. Just wished they had given him hair
